Sean M. does the play-by-play for many of the Red Sox games out here. He's good, but has a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor, and a sort of monotone delivery. I also certainly don't think of him as a hockey guy and can see him fumbling around with the WCHA players' names (he doesn't really regularly cover any college hockey games out east, either -- but, will have an east coast bias, I imagine).
I liked Brian Engbloom when he covered the 2001 Frozen Four. No eastern bias there (he went to Wisconsin, right?). You could tell he was thrilled when North Dakota tied up the game against BC.
Bob Norton regularly covers the UNH hockey games (if he was the larger, older, bald guy).

Doesn't look like I'll be watching live out here, either (or even tape delayed), according to the stations listed on USCHO: http://www.uscho.com/m/ncaad1/?data=tv2004
If anyone in the Boston area knows a place that will can pick up any of these stations, please let me know....
I'll email Dataflix to see if they can come through, but I doubt it considering they couldn't pick up the championship game last night.

Harvard just scored with :37 left in the game to go up against Clarkson, 3-2.
-
What a night for hockey! Everyone's knotted up -- Clarkson/Harvard, Maine/UMass, Minnesota/North Dakota.

Great news!! I'll stop listening again -- the Sioux came back after I stopped listening the first time (I shut it off before the Gophs' third goal was disallowed).
Go Sioux!! (Over and out -- will check back later).

I emailed Dataflix -- they will webcast the game against UAA, but won't have any games for Saturday.

This is probably too late, and needs some fine-tuning -- but to support Brady, Zach and Bo, how about something to the effect of:
"#s 14, 7 & 11:
ROY and The Fabulous (Hobey) Baker Boys"
-
Being #1 overall would result in that team playing the lowest seed overall, I believe, so that's at least one benefit from having that ranking. But, it's also obviously true that we all just want to be #1 in the end.
This just gives us a bunch of things to speculate about in the meantime....
(I also see I misread the box score when I made an earlier post -- BU scored 3 goals in 8 shots in the first 2 periods, not in 5 shots. I was looking at Matti's saves so the 3 that went in weren't accounted for....)
-
Matti Kaltiainen (BC's goalie) had been hurt and didn't play against Maine when BC got swept -- but he played tonight. Probably rusty and maybe not 100%.
EDIT -- When you look at the box score, you see BU actually scored 3 goals in 5 shots! (They scored all 3 goals by the end of the 2nd period.)

Great -- thanks for the info!

Another penalty box thing for Brown or Scott or whoever gets in there the most: I wonder if I can call on Martha to feng shui the sin bin?" <=Or anything using Martha
For all you lawyers out there (ya, me too):
"2:00 for Obstruction/Interference
Now I know how Martha feels"

I'm going on a mini-vacation this weekend to Phoenix. Do any of you fans living in Phoenix know of places to watch Sioux games via satellite there?
-
I agree on BC. Let them have it until it counts....
-
It was good tonight. If someone hears about whether the postseason games will be offered, please let us know. Go, Sioux -- beat Tech!
-
WOW!!! What a game!
-
31 seconds left./

This is torture.... Come on, SIOUX!
-
Porter called for a penalty. 5 x 3 for Duluth

Stupid ... Stupid ... Stupid!!

Sioux playing much better!
BC loses to UNH 3-2. BC hasn't won at the Whittemore Center in NH since 1997.
-
Prpich scores!!!!

A friend of mine won a ride on the zamboni during a period break of a Boston Bruins game a couple years ago at the Fleet Center. (It was the first game Mario Lemieux played in Boston after beginning to play again for Pittsburgh.) I made my friend wear my Sioux jersey. You could clearly see it was a Sioux jersey from the crowd, and for good measure, he was on the Jumbo Tron, too. The jersey looked great! I could hear a bunch of people commenting about it, and my friend was stopped quite a few times getting back to his seat.
Whenever I wear the jersey out here at events (Beanpot or Bruins game or whatever), I always hear people saying how great the jersey is as I walk by and it never fails that someone will come up to me and talk about it.

I lost my dataflix feed, too!

Yes, you're right about Holy Cross -- too bad the game isn't being televised in Massachusetts (at least so far). I hope that changes since Holy Cross is in Worcester, Mass.
