  1. Trent had 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists last night and everyone is calling for his head because he missed some free throws. TT was 1-4 on the night. Why isn't everyone calling for his head?? Make it make sense. We finally had a game where Trent and Brooks both played how everyone knows they are capable of and showed that they can be two of our best guards. Levias, TT, Nero, Grant, Matthews, and Eaglestaff all gave us absolutely nothing last night. Why is nobody talking about that? But making someone run until they puke for missing four free throws will solve all of the issues! Glad we got that figured out.
  2. Does Sather really know what he is doing?? You always say this and "have his back" but it always seems to show that he does not know what he is doing. And what 'chances' does Trent even need? He is a captain of the team. I would think he is a captain for a reason. Maybe Sather needs to evaluate how he coaches and should allow him to play free and not pull him every single time he makes a mistake. You know, maybe let the starting PG and captain play free and have the ability to make a mistake without the fear of being taken out and sit on the bench for the next 12 minutes of the game just to watch Caleb Nero over dribble every single possession. Just a thought though! I have heard stories and complaints from former players that Sather is in fact stuck in the old fashioned way of coaching. He needs to get with the times and start treating this like a D1 program or else it is going to continue to be a 'rebuilding year' for the rest of his contract. It's just the reality. Either get with the times or get left behind. It's not always just the players that need to look in the mirror when things aren't going great. The coach needs to as well.
  3. You didn’t answer the question though. How does running sprints until you puke help a player be better at free throws?? That’s such an old way of coaching that has been proven to not be the most effective way of coaching.
  4. We are a third of the way through the season. It’s pretty fair to make some assessments at this point. It’s not the end all be all but some assessments can be made
  5. I think we can all agree that the weekend against Utah Tech and CS Fullerton was an anomaly and we over reacted a bit to it
  6. This isn’t the 1960’s. That doesn’t work
  7. He has 2 turnovers….
  8. That lead scoring role is wide open and there for the taking from him. He just needs to take it!
  9. Too many open 3’s given up
  10. Subbing has been on point this half!
  11. Trent and Brooks scoring the ball. Omot shooting it well. Love to see it!
  12. To be fair, Grant is probably a better backup PG than Nero
  13. Brooks can shoot catch and shoot 3’s when there’s no hesitation
  14. Why?? Makes no sense
  15. Did I just see correctly….Grant checked in??
  16. Big game from Omot would be awesome! I'd love to see him get a game in the 20's! Really take over as that lead scorer for the team.
  17. The positive, at least we aren't last??
  18. Absolutely those are the guys that need to play the majority of the game! And I think of the other 3, Eaglestaff needs to get the most minutes. Sure he makes some really dumb decisions, as most freshman do, but man he can really shoot it and score it when he doesn't try to do too much. I mean he is our 5th highest scorer playing 13 minutes per game. They could continue to use his scoring off the bench. They need to continue to develop him as the year goes on. Omot, Brooks, and Eaglestaff are the future of the program if we can somehow keep them for 2-3 more years.
  19. Most definitely is a legit "excuse" for the poor performance against Portland. Traveling that much, sleeping in hotel beds for that many days, practicing in random gyms/not your own gym every day. It is a grind and ain't easy that's for sure! Hopefully we don't see any of those side effects tonight. As others have said, this is a winnable game that would be a great way to end off this long road trip.
  20. They also shot 44% from the field and 42% from three. I wasn't able to watch any of the game. Would have been interesting to see though what they did vs what we did to have that big of a difference between the two games.
  21. NDSU beat Portland last night without Grant Nelson... 67-62
  22. I think what is better is, he is a very hard worker and should definitely get minutes because he brings energy and can hopefully spark something off the bench. Does the little things. But he is a 10-12 minute per game type of guy. Not a 25+ minute guy
  23. Coaching. Culture. D1 players on the roster. A lot of things. This year is a step in the right direction so far though. Although a lot of improvements need to happen.
  24. Didn’t see that. Hopefully he’ll be okay!
