Personally, if I was being realistic and a competitor, I would definitely stay at a brand new hockey school, build a program from ground up with my hands all over the process, keep it headed in right direction, stay loyal to players/their families and build a program over many years not two years and leave. Also, get to raise a young family in a thriving Midwest community and learn and grow as a professional and then wait for the “right” opportunity, if I would ever want to leave. Maybe someone stays for a very long time? A lot worse places to live/coach in than Sioux Falls.
UND hockey is not the destination it once was. Everyone needs to realize this. If another internal hire happens, so be it. That seems to be the blueprint. Whether right or wrong, a guy who has dedicated 19 years to a program, is not going to come in without his own plan and he will have his own intentions/ideas.
My two cents……
