As someone who was strongly against the Jones signing, he clearly made the team a lot better with his defensive impact. Sometimes box scores don’t tell the whole story. Would it be great to have a center with his defensive impact and have the ability to give you 14 ppg offensively? Of course! But those guys are hard to get for a reason. I’ll say I’ve only Yale’s highlights but I would look at him the same way. He’s athletic, you hope he can finish around the rim, he’s shown he might have the ability to hit an open 3, and you hope he can be a plus defender with his athleticism. The box score numbers might not blow you away, but if he plays his role well, he can help a team win games

Some of these teams spend money just to spend money. ORU was supposedly at 1 million. There’s no one on that roster worth 10k

There’s a long list of role players that have left for little to no money. Maybe they all got “bad advice”. Maybe it’s something else that’s pushing them away
