Let’s talk stats from the SLT. Why did Reggie end up getting a majority of the minutes over Smith? He’s better off the ball, a better shooter, a better defender, and more reliable emotionally. He was able to find himself a role with this group. If this core sticks around and Smith develops these parts of his game, he can fill in nicely for Reggie next year

I don’t see how they upgrade the 5 if Guga and Jones return. I don’t know why any transfer big guy would want to come in if you return basically 100% of the minutes at the position. I could be wrong though

Smith played his role fine. Hard to play him more minutes if you’re throwing a lineup of Smith (24%), Uelman (34%), King (30%), and a 5 that can’t shoot. There’s simply not enough spacing

I think a proper comparison for UND basketball this year would be the New England Patriots. You can’t take away the fact they were one game away from winning it all, but they sure got a lot of breaks to go their way. Were they really that good or not? That’s up for debate

Look at the wins and losses in conference play. Losses by 11, 11, 19, 17, 8, 33, & 8. Wins include a 3 point OT win against SDSU, 2 points against KC where they missed a wide open 3 at the buzzer, 1 point against UST where all they had to do was inbound the ball, 3 points against Omaha, 1 point against USD where a 7 footer missed a putback layup at the buzzer, 1 point win against UST where UST literally threw the game away to UND. 6-0 in 1 score games with a lot of puck luck going UNDs way.

The trap defense at least makes teams move the ball and make quick decisions. A backcourt of Greyson and Kraft is about as bad defensively as you can get. I can't imagine what teams would score if we just let them play 1 on 1 against those two all night.

UND finishes the regular season 7th in the Summit League with an average scoring margin of -1.1. Amazing they somehow ended up 10-6
