He does seem to be a players coach. With how this whole portal thing is going that is a plus to be able to recruit and be liked. I look at NDSU and i think Richman is going to have a hard time adjusting to this new way. Look for UND to surpass NDSU in the future. I wouldn't mind if Sather ran a couple plays once in awhile, but I guess if you recruit the right athletes who needs plays!
I will give Sather credit, I like what he’s done with the last couple of classes (still skeptical on the redshirt freshman class though). His first couple of classes had a TON of misses. Maybe he needed to adjust to what he thought would work at the d1 level, maybe it was the state of the program, maybe they were just misses. Whatever it was, he’s done a much better job imo. The in game stuff could still use some work!

Meanwhile Omaha decides to go after two guys that struggled to get minutes for ndsu. Thats one strategy I suppose

How many scholarships do we have to fill?

One of the few times that I've personally known a student athlete on a UND team. Congrats to him and his family. I believe he would have known/played with Starcevic, so maybe that can lure him here, too.
He’s a great kid! Happy he’s coming to UND!

To try say he doesn't offer anything because he averaged 2 MPG on a Pac 12 NCAA tournament team as a redshirt freshman coming from a Class B ND school is a bit absurd.
Don’t think he’ll ever develop to play on the wing, but definitely offers some ball handling ability to attack other 5s. Tons of potential that is definitely worth a shot. Guards grow on trees, good luck finding quality big guys at this level

Joshua Ola-Joseph hits the portal. See if Treysen and Eli can get their old AAU teammate to come to Grand Forks

I dont see us offering many high schools seniors in the future. What is the point if they are good they leave and if they are not good they take up a scholarship. Look in the portal and build a new team each year! My opinion we wasted our scholarships on the two Bismarck kids. They wont contribute the next two years give it to someone that competes now. I do like Kraft and hope a local kid will stick around and eventually crack the rotation.
I would still go after talented high school kids. Who cares if you get 2 productive years out of BJ Omot or some random junior college kid. I agree with your other points though

Any of our red shirt big men make a difference this coming year?
is Williams back or in the portal?
I think the bigger question is will any of the redshirt make a difference this year?
-
Eli will have to take a big step forward if he wants to play PG. Can he make a nice pass within the offense or in transition? Yes. But people also said the same thing about Treysen after his freshman year and we saw how that played out last year. There’s way more to being a PG than making an occasional nice pass

I'm hearing that the Drake job is a real possibility for Hendo. Something to keep an eye on.
Keep an eye on Utah State

It would be nice to have a lefty that could actually knock down an open shot

Talent that needs a year or two to develop?
Many HM are prioritizing the portal over high school kids. This results in more talented kids at the mid major level.

All so that acquired talent can leave the following year.
Do you follow high school recruiting? Why is that talent at the mid major level?
-
Mid major fans need to calm down about the portal. Always complaining about the talent they lose, but never acknowledge the talent acquired because of the portal. The portal works both ways. Good coaches figure it out, bad coaches make a million excuses on why they can’t

It's common in any program to hate any coach that can't produce post season wins. It's the same story all across the country.
Difference is Richman has had success in the SLT. People do not like his personality, coaching style, and philosophy on the regular season
