  1. It is a NCC rule that has been in place about six years or more. Some places give the first three or four rows behind the opposition bench. Gives the enemy a little breathing room.
  2. UNC has good football practice facilities. They are probably trying to enhace them. Remember the Denver Broncos trained there for years. UNC's fans love football and come out. One reason the students go, is because they sell beer at the games. UNC will never draw for basketball. The students ski on the weekends and also prefer not to associate with negative things.
  3. Here is what the NCC of last year would look like this year after 4 weeks St. Cloud UNO UND USD SDSU NDSU MINN. ST. AUG It obviously shows the strength of D1aa football.

    At it again

I had a friend from Luverne send me this. It was in the Argus Leader on 9/18. Anthoney Lamar Watson,20, Brookings, pleaded guilty to first degree petty theft, $100.00 or more. $105.00 fine and sentenced to 60 days jail time, sentence suspended. He has continued to start at running back. They may have to move the State Pen closer to Brookings or set up a special jail to hold their atheletes and others. The other two players pled guilty and are awaiting sentence. The football player is despite having more than 10 pounds of dope still on the team and practicing. Amazing!
  5. Iowa Bison: Been to Europe Been to Puerto Rico Stood on the coast lines of the Atlantic and Pacific Never smoked what you're smoking. Hail to UND, the greatest University!
  6. UND is an Air Craft Carrier and NDSu is a gun ship. It is amazing how they come on this board and argue when they can't face the truth. Would you rather have the greatest University in the State or get your initials scrawled on the bottom of the TV screen. (And have people wonder in their family room, I wonder where North Dickenson State University is?)
  7. The Massey ratings. SDSU and NDSU posters were writing about how by using the Massey ratings they could play with so many and beat most of them. This weeks Massey ratings: UND-127 UNI -130 NDSu-138 Winona-160 St. Cloud-167 SDSU-178 According to this and they were legitimate last year....UND is the best in the area!
  8. Looks to me like aff is Jackmd from the diaa. His posts smell a little like a barn.
  9. The travel partner thing is interesting fodder. Having NDSU and SDSU as travel partners could be cost prohibitive. You have to get your team from town to town. So if your in Fargo on a night and going to Brookings how are you going to get there? Rent a bus? Then drive from Brookings back to Fargo or to Sioux Falls to fly to Minneaplis or Denver and then home? Or fly from Fargo to Minneapolis to Sioux Falls and then rent a bus? Also the assumption that they are both applying and they would take them both or neither is interesting. It's possible that the Big Sky if they were to add two teams would take, say UNC and NDSU. Something to ponder.

    For a laugh

UND-Gary and Wilbur got it! I was commenting on the fellows or gals use of the english language or lack of it and comparing its brilliance with how the two schools harped about how this was as much or more and educational move as athletic. If that was true based on the jags sentence structure, grammer etc. we can expect big things educationally from NDSU and SDSU. As the topic says....for a laugh. The Bisonettes take everything so seriously.

    For a laugh

Go to SDSU's board, then to football-Southern game. The post by the Southern fan is unbelievable. If this is an example of how the move to D1aa is as much about academics as athletics, the students at SDSU and NDSU should graduate.
  12. It's odd how silent they have become again and how an athlete who represented their school has suddenly no connection (according to their board. his eligibility had run out so he was no longer part of the college.) This is the future and they are getting a little taste of it early. Remember when this was an academic move? (they needed to be with like institutions) Now they are hoping for any conference, whether it is one where they are like institutions or not. I am sure that they could have joined the Big Ten, in fact I am sure they would have been admitted, lest for the fact that a Big Ten institution already has the same name. PEN STATE!
  13. My guess is that George wasn't on line with the move to D1 and didn't change his mind. That is where the psychological difference may lie. With all the awards he won for the University and his efforts at games he was well respected around the nation I would imagine. This may convince other employees that the move up is the best and only way. Intimidation works well very often.
  14. Sounds like one player and the info I got was possession and trafficking.
  15. It has been swirling around the rumor mill. The illegal substance abuse problems seem to be continuing in a small town in east central South Dakota. The ground work had already been laid by two others, however this seems to be more explosive. The cost of success sometimes comes at the risk of the type of person you have on your squad. This now seems to be a prevailing theme. Of course with the switch to d-1 and the type of players needed for even modest success you will find even more risk taking. The types of people that will be left to recruit that have talent will be questionable on occassion. Not sure when this story will break, but it should be soon and considering the types of things that have been happening down there this one will pile on. They might want to discard and start over.
  16. I think there is a great possibility that Matt Jones won't play anywhere til he is healthy. Which could be never or could be next year. It's a moot point until he's a 100%. He's a very good player but he is a better person from what I've heard and I hope the best for him.
  17. A new sport will be announced Tuesday in Brookings at South Dakota State College of Agriculture. Women's Kick Boxing is expected to add 20 women athletes. In an effort to comform to Title 9 rules the Aggies will start the team in the 2004-05 season. A nation wide effort will be used to recruit for the fast start to the program. The coach will be announced Tuesday as well and sources say the Dr. Fred Oien will be named head man. President Piggy Miller says there is not another person in the nation as qualified to coach young women on the art of beating other women than him.
  18. For the Bison it's like replacing Elle McPherson with Phyllis Diller.
  19. PCM - Relax....it was a tongue in cheek comment. Things have been pretty calm since the Hobo Day Riot!
  20. They have a press conference about Title 9 either Wed. or Thurs. You are right on about why Miller decides to leave a criminal in his job. She is scared to death her little brain child will blow up if he is gone. Also dead on about the promise not to move up unless a conference is found for all sports. (of which there will probabley be less of by the end of the week) I would be proud to have an alchoholic and wife beater as my A.D. Brookings must be the last Tombstone of our country. A city of no laws, where open containers and guns are the norm.
  21. I agree with you that the price of the school makes walk ons a rarity. In basketballs case, remember that Billitter more than likely could recruit anyone at NDSU and get them in school, so he is adjusting to where he is at. I shouldn't say anyone at NDSU, they wouldn't have wanted him to bring in a really good basket weaver, as it would have thrown the curve off and depleted their football team.
  22. I guess satisfied is based on if you are trying to do it the right way or if you're in a hurry. Since he has no pressure to win right now it looks like he is building a program. He had five freshman of which two redshirted last year and these seven and who knows if he is done. By the way, I have a friend that used to coach at Augustana who has told me that they have no fulls in football. All partials and many of the players qualify for academic money to get them closer to full equivilants. (surprising that the academicians that go there didn't go to NDSU with their history of Rhodes Scholars on the football team. Was it Lamar Gordon or Keontay Jackson that discovered the Theory of Relativity)
  23. I am sorry to start such an uproar or stampede to this topic. Folks we have to admit tht the Bisonettes are right. Drake is a powerhouse. They won't go undefeated next year though. I saw four losses on their schedule. William Penn, the well documented Upper Iowa, Wisc. Platteville and of course the defending national champions Waldorf (entering their second year as a four year college.) Wipe your brows and buckle your chin straps Bison....here come the Mighty Bulldogs.
  24. I noticed on my favorite fantasy (island) board that the Endangered species (Bison) are excited about the possibility of playing Drake. One only needs to remember that the powerful Morningside Maroon Chiefs used to open with them and even beat them. (yes they were D1AA then) Between the excitement of playing half their games on the West Coast and playing BCS powers like Drake and Valpo, not to mention that MIT of the west Montana Tech, I can't wait ...I really can't wait.
