Could still pull a Cooley, the fans wanted him gone.
The "fans" wanted him gone?. Are you implying the whole Gopher fan base wanted him gone or a few idiots on Gopher Puck Live?

Are you a fact checker for NBC? This reminds me of one of their "fact checks" when Trump said that Biden has been in politics "forever." That was declared to be a lie. He was not in politics forever, but begin his politic career in 1970...
OMG, All I did was call out GF for his/her comment labeling all fans in the cities as wanting an all metro tourney when it was only some posters posting it. It's no different when other fan bases say UND fans are classless. Sure some UND fans are classless but don't generalize that the entire fan base is classless. Every fanbase has their bad fans.

Figure of speech bud have you ever heard of it?
Yes Bud, I have heard of it. Maybe next time you post something don't generalize an entire hockey community on "some" posters comments.

Like I said Pal, I'm sure there were "some" people in the cities that made that comment about an all metro tourney but your statement was "ALL".

I don’t live in the cities. I live out in dickinson now.
You make a comment stating "everyone in the cities bragging about an all metro tourney" but you you live in Dickinson, seven and a half hours away from the cities. Sounds like you made this statement up about what people in the cities are saying. Sure, they might have been some people commenting about an all metro tourney but "everyone" as you stated?

Michigan completely robbed in OT by the officials. Stripes wearing maroon and gold undergarments.
Same thing happened to Minnesota in the third period. Same ref had a quick whistle.

Bemidji State is having a pre-sale going on for tickets. Does anyone have the pre-sale code?

Does anybody know if you can watch a replay of games on NCHCTV. Example if a UND game is over at 10:00pm will I be able to watch it at 11:00pm.

Almost two weeks later, and I still have to read about how whiny Vikings fans were treated in the Herald.
Cratter- how would you feel if your wife went to Philly for the game but had to miss the game because she was in the ER due to being hit in the face by a battery in the stadium parking lot. But, according to you she would be just a whiny Vikings fan.

Where in Fargo is a good place to watch UND games?

My daughter got recruited by Warroad 7 years ago after she went to a camp up there. She did not like it up there. Worked out good though as I got to coach her all 4 years in high school here.
Whoa, I thought only private schools recruit??

So now the reason that UND has great attendance while Minnesota's is pathetic according to some on GPL is that there is nothing else to do in Grand Forks and our team has been good this year. Seems like our attendance has been constant even when Hakstol's teams almost always hovered around .500 the first half.
So now the people in the "State of Hockey" with a huge Metro population to draw from need to make lame excuses to explain their poor attendance. Maybe the reason so many people in small town Minnesota go to hockey games is because they have nothing else to do, so maybe they aren't actually the "State of Hockey" after all, maybe they are just bored. The only problem with their logic is that you look at all of the Sioux fans in the Denver area that go to the UND games in Denver. Can't use the "nothing else to do" logic there.
Maybe it is just time to admit that UND seems to have more fans that care about hockey than Minnesota. Sure, part of that has to do with them being sick of the Big Ten predicament, but weren't they the ones that were saying UND needs Minnesota, while Minnesota would be just fine. Guarantee you that next year when we play them it will be the biggest series since we played them last time, and tickets will be hard to find.
I agree with your post, I moved from Fargo to the cities in the late 80's and I am a huge Gopher fan BUT, I admit it is embarrassing in a city with over 3 million people we can't even fill a 10,000 seat arena. All i hear is "there's so much more to do here in the cities and there's nothing to do in cities like Grand Forks" which is a bunch of bull. Sure there is more to to do in the cities but to say there's NOTHING to do in Grand Forks or Fargo, St.Cloud, etc is completely untrue. I keep reminding my friends who were born and raised in the cities that when they make comments like this it just shows the Twin Cites arrogance (which there is a lot of).

So Fargo has doctors, lawyers, judges, pilots, ...
< You made it so easy it had to be said. >
And no other city besides Fargo has jobs for doctors, lawyers, judges,pilots...??? Fargo must not be that bad of city to live in. Sorry Sicatoka, that was easy also.

Why can't I run into more of those fans, instead of the "We can't wait to vote and make your team the Sundogs! Sioux Suck! Hahahaha!" group that is chomping at the bit for a public vote? Guess that's the curse of living in Fargo...
If Fargo is such a curse city to live in, why are there so many UND alumni living in Fargo?

10 years since the policy was put in place but the fight has been going on for decades. Your last point is spot on.
Your right, the nickname issue has been going on for many, many decades. I remember hearing issues back in the 1960's with the Sammy Sioux mascot controversy. People were upset with the imagery of a Sioux Indian as a cartoon figure.

No question that gameday atmosphere in the Alerus has been lacking, at least during the DI days. Of course, this is largely due to the hopeless seasons where the team is never competing for playoffs. Bring in wins, and people will come. Also, doesn't help that NDSU is so successful and is so nearby; they definitely pull in a lot of bandwagon fans.
Just curious, Are you saying NDSU has bandwagon fans. Also, do you think UND has bandwagon fans?
-
Yeah, that was kind of rude.
I meant home ec majors.
I just don't understand how NDSU being a Home EC and Farming school can have 21 overall National Championships while the Flagship University in North Dakota can have only 12.
-
Do you mean like how Bison and Sioux football is irrelevant to 99.999999% of college sports fans in general?
Hey, I love UND sports, including football, but I understand the difference between former UND players who are now NHL superstars making millions of dollars and toting around the Stanley Cup compared to an FCS subdivision championship won in a soccer stadium in Texas.
Not my fault if the ditch diggers from Fargo U can't figure it out.
Just curious what you mean by"Ditch diggers from Fargo"?

Another example of a great response when you have no comeback in regards to trophy's.Another example of the great discussion you guys bring to this site.
