  1. I still like how Norton said that North Dakota doesn't take a lot of penalties in a game. Which team has he been watching? The womens?
  2. This tournament isn't available on Dish Network, so I'm assuming it's the same for DirectTV.
  3. I used to know a Lovejoy in the military. We didn't give him too much crap.
  4. Amen brother! Didn't seem him in the Canada game, but saw him play a very selfish role in the Germany game, taking away opportunities for the U.S.
  5. I feel better now. Just e-mailed Team USA front office again. This time I volunteered my services to sit on a selection committee to select a team that can actually compete with the other international teams. I'm sure I'll get the call tomorrow! I'm simply a disgruntled veteran tonight.
  6. Well, I didn't get to see or listen to the game today, as Alabama has no idea what hockey is. Doesn't look like I missed too much, other than a couple of nice goals by Toews. I put it on DVR so I'll be able to see those when I return home. This tournament is huge for Canada, Russia, Sweden, and the majority of European countries. The Team USA staff have no idea how to put together a team. They showed that in the Olympics last year. I wrote them an e-mail expressing my displeasure. Unfortunately, I didn't get a response back. I agree with previous posts that we do need to go to a different selection process. The boys should spend a week practicing to earn a spot on the team; then the team should be sent over to stand alongside our troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan, so they can see how good they have it, and learn a little something called patriotism, and what it means to represent your country. Then they can go and win this tournament, or at least play with the heart that is necessary to win it. If Germany gets one more win, they should knock us out of any type of contention...oh wait, we'll do that to ourselves in our next game. So, as with last year, "Go Canada!!!"
  7. I'm watching that game. Tootoo hits a Blues player on a touch up icing, not just a small hit, but HUGE, which causes a melee. Somehow, St. Louis comes out of it shorthanded. About 5 minutes before this hit, he hit a Blues player, which caused a retaliation, which resulted in 3 simultaneous fights on the ice. Fun game to watch, but don't really agree with how Tootoo's playing.
  8. Yep. Here's an article on it. Blake Article
  9. Not Sioux related, but didn't know where else to put it. Sidney Crosby tries to take on Cam Janssen, the Devils heavyweight. His teammates quickly come to get him away from him before anything can happen. In all reality, Janssen was pretty kind, not even trying to fight him. However, I'd say Janssen won the battle being they both went for 2 minutes. It was pretty funny to watch though.
  10. Anything but Maroon and Gold!
  11. Travis Zajac scores a goal in tonight's Devils/Penguins game. Parise gets an assist on the goal.
  12. My buddy can't figure out why I hate the Pittsburgh Penguins, and especially Ulf Samuelson. As a Sioux fan, I'll be more than happy to see Okposo to go pro as soon as possible. Is right after this tournament too early to hope for??
  13. He had a really good game. The broadband feed I had was pretty choppy, but from what I heard, he played well. Definitely created opportunities, which is what Team Canada was looking for him to do.
  14. I don't know if I would go that far. As the ultimate Cam Neely fan, I put him pretty high on the pedestal!
  15. I haven't really watched the Gophers too much this year. I turn the games on, but obviously focus on the Sioux game. So you obviously know Okposo better than I do. However, I wouldn't be surprised if he just goes straight to the Islanders. Today was the first time I really took the time to watch him actually play, and he's like a mix of T.J. Oshie and Zach Parise. Probably more of Parise but he has some characteristics that remind me of Oshie as well.
  16. They commented that this year's team was supposedly accepting roles, but I guess I didn't see it today. U.S. got down early, and all of a sudden, you had 5 or 6 different players trying to do it all yourself. I got really frustrated watching Erik Johnson trying to go end to end, and not even think about passing, just to have the puck poke checked away before he even got a shot off. Same thing happened to Jack Johnson a few times in the 3rd, as well as Patrick Kane. Even Okposo had it happen to him a few times, however, that kid simply has the moves and impressed the hell out of me!
  17. I don't think Lee or Chorney played terrible games. I'm sure they'll be the two who are remembered for this loss (if anyone remembers it much into the future) because they were the defensive pair on the ice when the Germans won in OT. However, this loss can be blamed on the entire team. Other than Okposo and Kane at times, I don't think anyone on Team USA played great hockey. A lot of people played selfish hockey, not using their teammates when they needed them the most, and IMO, that's the reason we lost today.
  18. Canada beats Sweden, 2-0.
  19. Canada now up, 2-0.
  20. Toews just did his patented no look snap shot from the lower right corner. Goalie made the save. Haven't seen him do that too much this year at North Dakota. Canada just scored. 1-0.
  21. He appears to be okay. Back playing again.
  22. I have Dish Network. Here's the channel for Dish, and the station. Great Lakes Invitational Ch. 430 FOXD Wells Fargo Denver Cup Ch. 414 FOXRM Dodge Holiday Classic Ch. 436 FOXN
  23. Not that I'm aware of. Great Lakes Invitational is on; Minneosta's Holiday Classic is on; and Wells Fargo Denver Cup is on.
  24. You're correct, Finland doesn't have anywhere near the team they've had in past years. I'm thinking Redwing is going off that....past years. Where they have a good goaltender, I don't think they have a good defense.
