  1. MARIO!!!! 2-0!!! EDIT: Where the hell were you last weekend when I had you in Sioux Survivor???!!!
  2. I'm starting to think the women's team could beat BU this year.
  3. He was in the right spot...just didn't get a stick on it.
  4. Trupp with a nice steal there from the Huskies in the neutral zone.
  5. ZAJAC FIVE HOLE!!!
  6. Eids with a big save on a broken play.
  7. I had nerves with the freshmen on the ice! They got stuck out there too long, and SCSU was able to get a veteran line out there.
  8. 3rd line cycled the puck well there. Just couldn't get it out of the corner.
  9. They don't know what hockey is in Chattanooga. I have the sports pack, but that consists of college sports channels (FCS, Big 10, ESPNU).
  10. GO SIOUX!!!! Score early and often!!!!
  11. I do have FCS, so I do get to watch the Sioux play. Just wish I could watch NHL hockey, other than via internet.
  12. The best "Minnesota" has ever looked!
  13. I live at the bottom of a hill and trees go all the way up the hill, so I'd need about a 200 foot pole!
  14. At least you have the NHL Network! Comcast in Chattanooga has no idea they even have an NHL channel. NHL Network not available here, nor is Center Ice package. I need to move out of the forest I live in, so I can get my dish back!!!
  15. Michigan/Michigan St. game has consisted of special teams for a large portion of the game. I know our WCHA refs don't call a lot, but those guys call everything!!
  16. Hak pre-game comments: Good to be home. Hasn't seemed like a month, but I guess it's been a month since playing here. SCSU's record may be a little misleading. They lost the first 2 games of the year at Miami, who have proved to be the #1 team in the country, but I've watched game tape, and they seem to be solid. We have to prepare hard every day, and go out on game day and prove ourselves. We have to start with a competitive level, that gives us a chance to win every game. We need to have everyone going, everyone chipping in and doing their part, and when we do that, we seem to be pretty good. Anytime we do that, anytime we win, it's going to be a team win. Toews has stepped up and proven that he's a top 9 forward. Hextall is healthy and back in the line. Kristo was moved last weekend off the top line, as he seemed to be putting some pressure on himself. Going to give some freshman the opportunity tonight to see if they can put something together. Hextall is ready to go. I was very cautious on Wednesday, because you never know what's going to happen on a Wednesday or Thursday practice. We gave him the night off Saturday in hopes he'd be ready to go this weekend. Genoway just has to continue to simplify his game, and take the game that comes to him. As long as he doesn't try to do too much, he's going to be very strong for us. He just needs to keep being a good leader and good player, and he'll be fine. Specialty teams will be a big role. They always seem to be critical in this series, and they will be again tonight.
  17. I think it will be a closer one, though I do hope we blow them out. SCSU always seems to play us tough in our barn (and there's as well). I'm hoping that we continue strong. More concerned about the win than the score. GO SIOUX!!! 3-2, Sioux win.
  18. That's a given on this board!
  19. So, if we get swept this weekend, I first blame Brad for running the story, and than you for starting this thread.
  20. I swear, Jim's mind rolls numbers before anything else.
  21. Parise with a goal (#8 on the year and shorthanded) and an assist in tonight's Devils/Ducks game. Parise with a "never give up" effort to get the goal.
  22. I guess I didn't take it exactly the way you did. I personally thought he was comparing the two rivalries, but stating the differences, in that UND/UM rival is more vicious of a rival while UM/UW rival is more of a respectful rival, in the sense that things don't get quite so rough. As AZSioux said, it's the nature of our program. Our tradition is that we fight hard. I think Wisconsin has gotten away from their tradition, as they had the same type of program in the late 70's, early 80's. I would say Eaves changed that, as Badger Bob would've never allowed such "kind" play from Wisconsin.
  23. It's 6-2
  24. Don't forget Trupper! Time for the Huskies!!!
  25. Hak post game comments: Joking with TH about leaving...long trip, let's go! Good win for us. I thought we hurt ourselves in the first with penalties, but I thought we got better in the game. I thought the 2nd was good and the 3rd, we played really well. Not a ton of flow to the game, but that's the nature of the game. We have to limit their explosiveness on 2 on 1's. A d-man and forward both pinch on the puck to set those up. We have to play smart to prevent those. Makes a big difference the way Mac and Gleason are playing out there. If we can change Genoway's ice time, that makes a big time. The two young guys are doing well back there, and they're giving us a nice option. Gleason plays the PP, Mac we're comfortable with on the PK. Toews was one of our better players, and I thought he was the most effective player offensively. I thought he was a factor almost every shift. I particularly love Trupp's goal, the way Toews protected the puck. The highlight goes to Trupp, but Toews did an outstanding job setting it up. Trupp got one from his stomach and one with his feet below the goal line. The flip play on the 3rd goal by Malone was a good play too. He had time and he made a play. It was a huge goal to take pressure off of us. We made a couple of mistakes...a couple of young guys. Didn't rattle the play at all. Guys just went and did their job. Cichy bumping the goalie, could get us rattled, but I thought the guys did well killing the penalty and maintaining calm.
