Yep. Have to hit play. Should see the scoreboard.

Hak pre-game comments: We've seen 3 different styles of team thus far. Been a big challenge early in the year. Made us better. Hard to have a measuring stick at this time. Wins and losses are one thing, we've made it through undefeated. We've made good progress. We're starting to find some different chemistry's. A big challenge for us is starting well. Michigan Tech came out early last week and jammed it down Mankato's throat. We started out okay, but that's not good enough for the WCHA. We need to raise it and set the bar intensity wise. A lot of different factors out east. On the road in someone else's building, you know they're going to come out hard against you. Tech will come out and play a physical style. They play a little more physical at home than on the road, as well as a little more jump. We need to be ready to go for that. Who knows what's in store regarding the score of the game. Obviously, we play a different defensive style, but we've played hard in our own zone. Phil's done well. It gets tougher once we get into WCHA games. Have to get your nose dirty. Can't get frustrated with teams who collapse to the net. Need to be hungry and get the puck and just keep after it. They do a good job at clogging up the neutral zone. They use four guys to clog it. We need to have good transitions and make good plays. Hopefully we can get down low and cycle. Vande Velde on top line centering Oshie and Duncan. Kaip has done a great job to allow us to move Vande up to that line. I think Vande makes good plays and is able to work with those guys. Kaip and Watson have been our two most consitent players. They score timely goals and contribute all over the ice. Lasting memory of last Xmas break is what happen in the last series before Xmas this year. Don't know how much that will come into play once the puck is dropped, but we'll see. Want to get a good start to our WCHA season.

Audio link up and running.

Brad usually posts it on his blog about 30 minutes beforehand, and AZSioux usually brings it over to this thread.

I had the same trouble at times with ours, prior to the season, but it works just fine. I purchased it, as I think it will be fine. If it doesn't work, I guess I'll go with TH.

Yes.

I don't think Michigan is ever weak. They're not as strong as they were last year, but watching them a few weeks ago, they appeared to be pretty typical Michigan. Watched the game last night though, and wasn't very impressed with Ohio State. However, if memory serves (and it may not), this year's NC schedule for Minny is pretty weak compared to past years.
-
Precisely. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't say the thing about Tech. I do think they'll do well this year, and I think they'll present us with a tough challenge this weekend, but I don't expect them to be in the hunt for any hardware at the end of the season. Perhaps they'll prove me wrong, but I just don't see them turning things around that much in that short amount of time.

Nice wrister on the PP last night too for Johnny. I bet teams don't keep letting him sit that unattended like Boston did last night on that play. The Bruins goalie, Thomas, was just sitting there, probably wondering, 'Who is that kid?'

No soup for you!!!
-
Agree. I think you have to leave Vande on his line to give us more scoring depth. He's played decent thus far this year.
-
Hak going to bounce around the lines. My guess is that Trupp gets a chance at the top line. I like his answer though that we may see Chorney up there! Thanks PCM.

Not one bit!

"What a move!!!!" NHL....meet Jonny Toews!
-
12 total penalties. 7 for BC, 5 for the Sioux.
-
Finally! Something positive in the night!!! Goph's lose!
-
He said the ice was lousy, but it was lousy for both teams. Early on, definitely. I thought the Sioux did better in the 2nd though. Agree 100%. Understand standing up for your teammates, but you have to make the smart choices too, and giving away a PP isn't one of them. Especially for playing in the fog in the 2nd period. You could definitely see he wasn't seeing the puck well. I'm just glad we didn't give up any under those conditions.
-
Hak didn't specify. He just said they lost Malone to a shoulder injury.
-
Yes and no. I'm sure when they built it, they weren't experiencing this type of weather in October in Boston, so they were trying to save some $$$$. However, on the other side, the other arena's in the area do have AC (I'm assuming BU does as well....correct me if I'm wrong 31-9), and why build an arena where you can only hold hockey in the winter months. The old Ralph struggled with ice in warm weather, but that was built well before '94 too.
-
Emrick also stated tonight that there was no AC in the building. I think that's the AC problem!
-
It's a lousy system (or lack of) they have in the arena. The power outage was simply a catalyst to the problems.

Financing issues?

Hak happy with teams performance. Never quit grinding. Never gave BC anything clean like we've done in the past. They transition well, and we did a pretty good job and Phil did a good job at it. We had a lot of loose change laying around the goal crease and couldn't get anything off of it. Puck was bouncing. Ice conditions were poor. Has to be 80 degrees at ice level. Humidity very high too. It's the same for both sides and you have to play through it. Liked how we handled things mentally. Lost Malone early on so we had to juggle lines. Nobody likes to see it end this way. I'm sure Coach York and his team doesn't...we certainly don't. It's a legitimate game that ends in a tie. BC is a good hockey team. They're going to be a team that's hanging around in the rankings. At the end of the day, we got a tie. It's not what we wanted, and it's a let down.
-
Phil with 2 shutouts!!!!!!

Rather see it end in a tie then have someone get injured.
