So the B1G allows a game with an understaffed ASU team; but, the NCHC reshuffles the schedule so CC and DU can get bodies back against UND?

That’s why we have THE best league in the country. Easy wins are for kids (sorry Trix!)

Cruikshank is not only our best offensive player, he’s the leader and heart and soul of the team. His motor is always running and he sets an example for everyone else, including the dozen or so freshmen in the lineup. It stinks not having him and will make things challenging for sure.

The one guy I was really expecting more out of this season is junior defenseman Bryan Yoon. He’s a very gifted skater with lots of skill and the hope was that he’d elevate his offensive production, he only has 2 points thus far.

Freshman goalie Dominic Basse has been encouraging. His numbers don’t jump out at you but I like his game. He’s steady in net and doesn’t flop around, getting himself out of position like Vernon has a tendency to do. I think he will be the future regular starting goalie going forward this year and the next few years to come.

Watching the series last weekend, I can tell you that CC was a tape to tape or a shot ON goal from several chances. Missed the net all series and it makes you wonder why. Struggled to connect on 20 plus plays on the power play. Confidence seems low but several of the top 6 should have buried pucks. I call a rebound and a tough game 1 with the result dictating game 2...

If Chrona wasn't bracing for it, I would agree with you, but I find it hard to believe that Mismash at 6'1, 195 could send a goalie 6'6, 216 without pads spinning that out of control even though he was standing still.   You see guys trying to deliver hits all of the time on guys standing still and many times they find themselves on the ground because the other guy is more solid and bracing himself.  Guess Magnus might be the only one who really knows if he was trying to put one over on the officials.

But, take into account Chrona’s position and the centrifugal affect of goal pads. I think he was in a bad, and yes vulnerable, position. I think Grant was being aggressive, but don’t believe intent to injure was there. It was reckless.

If they'd announced the additional game the next day and said it was due to the short amount of time left in the game it would be better received by UND fans.

My recollection is Perunovich didn't receive supplementary discipline last year for his checking from behind, is that correct? That was worse than this.

When I talked favoritism, Perunovich was on top of the list but not number 1. Wolfe was allowed to get away with murder for 4 years. UMD, for some unknown reason has played some of the chippiest hockey yet they always get the pivotal power play to have that one chance...

I’d like an explanation of why the officials didn’t review the Omaha OT goal. Watching the replay several times, the clock on the tv screen hit 00 before Tyler Weiss even got the shot off. Haviland pleaded his case to the officials but they claim their clocks were different. I don’t understand how there can be two sets of game clocks?

According to official time keeper there was .2 (noting that the screen clock doesn’t communicate tenths) seconds on the game clock at the time of the goal. It was reviewed, but it didn’t take long once the timekeeper ‘chimed in’ no pun intended.. clock 00:00.2 on screen is 00:00

He completely loses any credibility as a hockey mind by saying that the Mismash play was worse than what Pionk did.

Pionk even finished his hit and followed through.....

It wasn’t worse than the Pionk hit, but I agree with the 5, the game and the additional and I’ll tell you why. The team obviously was rubbing it in at this point and Grant made no attempt to avoid and appeared, maybe just to me, to stiffen that shoulder and arm to maximize the impact of the hit. Chroma was in a poor position to take the hit and I think folks are stretching to say he embellished it. Pionk, on the other hand, should have been suspended for several games. That hit was an embarrassment to NCHC officiating and showed unreasonable favoritism. I hammered UMD fans well into the following season over that situation.

A frustrated CC fan just posted an expletive laced FB post regarding the CC Tigers and it had nothing to do with the late OT goal. Increasing amounts of frustration toward Assistant Coach RJ Enga and CC’s inept power play. Can’t say the refs didn’t give the Tigers chances to win; CC laid a goose egg on the power play all weekend.

Watching the game Tuesday night it looked like a 40 minute power play. Shot attempts 167, shots on goal 36. Ok, exaggerating, but it felt like that.

For how CC is built, they should have dominated the 3x3 OT with their speed. At one point they looked like they just wanted to get to the shootout.

Omaha was stiff after the 28 day layoff, the altitude and the battle Monday night. It was all CC and they couldn’t bury one...

Those 6 remaining games against UNO are important...they're a contender at this point too.

UNO is a contender, and will be for some time. They’ve turned the corner and begun to play good hockey without any ‘stars’. Gabinet is doing it right in my book. Building a team, a culture. If not for this effed up year, my bet is they’d make the a’s...

  10. I hate to be an ass on this, but for me I think a commitment should be 2 years minimum (don’t get me started on verbals!). So much work goes into finding these kids an offering them financial rewards for joining the team, it sucks that they can just walk. Two years, enter the portal and go.

Imagine what this forum would be like if UND was in Denver's position now.

Denver’s position? We could be at .500 and this place would be a dumpster fire! Fire Barry, fire the Zamboanga driver, fire all the seniors, fire the guy that plows the parking lots!!!

I don't know how it will play out. I just said it's possible for Gaber to play 5 years.

Oh I get it, I was just musing about what will happen. Seems to me that across the NCAA, top end talent will be moving about for a variety of reasons (none scholastic) and if movement ‘out’ slows down, the incomes will do the same thing. If a team is heavy on good defense and nobody is leaving, incomers might look elsewhere..
