  1. Stu Whitney of the Argus wrote this article during SDSU Sweet 16 run in 2019 https://www.argusleader.com/story/news/columnists/stu-whitney/2019/03/28/aaron-johnston-south-dakota-state-womens-basketball-coach-stu-whitney/3300706002/. Stu has since retired from the Argus Leader, but he was a great writer. Although he tended to like to stir the pot much in the same manner of McFeely. At the time when SDSU Men's Basketball was struggling in the transition, he wrote some articles about Scott Nagy that maybe it was time for Jacks to move on from Nagy. Obviously the Jacks stuck with Nagy, and to the credit of Stu, once Nagy righted the ship at SDSU, he wrote some great articles of how in the end SDSU was right in sticking with Nagy. As you all now Nagy did eventually move onto Wright State of Horizon League, but that was probalby in part to get closer to home as he is from Illiniois. Anyway, this arricle from 2019 provides some insight into the reasons why AJ is still at SDSU. Now that being said, AJ probably gets offers every year. However, it would appear the new Power 5 hires for Women's Basketball have all been women. Is that a factor? Who knows...
  2. Kalen DeBoer is now the Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator at Indiana, making $800,000. https://iuhoosiers.com/coaches.aspx?rc=2623 https://saturdaytradition.com/indiana-football/contract-details-for-new-indiana-oc-kalen-deboer-released/ He was the head coach of University of Sioux Falls that upset UND in 2009.
  3. Regarding basketball facilities, Augie has an on campus facility called the Elmen Center that is need of upgrades. Rather than upgrade that facility, they have opted to lease the SF Arena, which is where the Summit League was played prior to the Denny Sanford Premier Center being built. The Premier Center is where the Summit League Tournament is currently held. It is a neutral court for the Summit League Tournament so the only time a Summit League team plays there is during the Summit League Tournament. Augie would not be able to play there.. The SF Stampede hockey team plays in the Premier Center. The 2018 NCAA Hockey West Regional was played in the Premier Center. The future of the SF Arena that seats about 6,000 is currently in limbo. The SF Arena is right next to the Premier Center. The SF Arena might be torn down to make room for additional convention space and/or motel space. That decision has not been made yet. The other possibility for Augie in the event the SF Arena is torn down is the Sanford Pentagon, which is on the north edge of SF. It is one building of many in a multi-sport complex that includes several outdoor football fields, indoor football facility, training facility, hockey facility, etc.. The Sanford Pentagon is a very modern facility built in 2013, and has a 3250 seat facility in the middle of it that has the "Old Hoosier Feel" to it. The G-League Sioux Falls Skyforce play their games at the Pentagon. The important thing to remember is the Denny Sanford Premier Center seats 12,000 and is where the Summit League Tournament is held. The Sanford Pentagon is 3,250 seat facility and is a better facility than the Betty Engelstad Arena. This evening, December 16, Nebraska is currently playing Oklahoma State at the Pentagon. Every year they host a Power 5 Conference matchup. This is the second time Oklahoma State has played there as they played the Gophers a couple years ago. The teams that play there cannot say enough good things about the Pentagon. If you want to see what the facility looks like, the game is currently at halftime on the Big Ten Network.
