  1. First time playing: James for Friday night.
  2. I was trying to find an actual active forum for Denver or St. Cloud... and honestly.. I cannot find one. Same with Duluth even. I can find some really old inactive activity on random boards here and there, but I was very surprised to not be able to find an active hockey board or even other sports board for other NCHC teams. Does anyone know of any? I was curious to go see what Pioneer & Bulldog fans, etc, have been saying about us. Maybe I just don't know where to look. I know we have such a crazy and dedicated fan base, but the lack of other NCHC boards I think speaks volumes about our fan base. I know there are Gopher forums, and some for some other schools. But for NCHC teams, I haven't found much. Certainly nothing comparable to SiouxSports.
  3. A 2nd grader working in clip art could do better. This is the most generic POS logo I’ve ever seen. It looks like one of the Generic crappy logos you could use in create a team on EA sports game trash.
  4. So the kid has some MAJOR Sioux Legacy behind him. If you do some research, Earl Strinden (GPA) played a big role in the last version of the Sioux head becoming the logo after Brien gave him a painting of it before it was the logo, and then it became the logo. I can't find the article now... shocker. But, its super interesting. So this kid comes on the team with some Major Sioux pride I would think - super cool.
  5. Yeah. Class A, B. And I think a bus license is easier to get. But yeah.
  6. Well, to be honest. I think a bus license and a CDL are two different things. I think a bus license is a lot easier to get. I might be wrong.
  7. There is definitely some room for some improvement and changes all around. I can see the argument we don’t want a bunch of essentially high school seniors driving 53’ trailers and doubles down the highway. It’s just a mess. So a tiered system for maybe smaller trucks could be an idea. You don’t need a CDL for what’s called a straight truck. Where the thing is all one unit. You see these around town a lot. But you’d probably won’t get hired regardless without your CDL.
  8. Yup. And another issue is the new programs almost exclusively teach on automatics… so when the new guys get out, some of the older/smaller trucking outfits don’t have automatics, and the bigger companies then end up having to let the new employees drive the new trucks and the old guys get stuck with the older trucks.
  9. Agreed. But you’d still have to get the age minimum From 21 changed.
  10. Yes. They have made it extremely difficult to fill the CDL driver shortage. I am in transportation and logistics working for a larger LTL freight company, and we have so many openings for CDL drivers.. On top of all that, the CDL classes that are required are 8-5 M-F for about 3 weeks, and cost a bunch of money (about $6,000) and you cannot miss much at all! So, unless you already don’t have a job, and you DO have the money to go do the classes. You’re screwed. You can’t take 3-4 weeks off work, pay to go do the classes and hope you find a job after you finish. On top of all of that, most LTL or truckload companies won’t hire a driver with less than 1 full year of experience due to insurance reasons, AND, you have to at least be 21 which rules out a lot of kids that would go get a CDL at 18 - but those same kids are going into diesel tech or welding programs instead( or whatever else) by the time they are 21, they have a career in a good trade or could be even be graduated with a 4 year degree (most of which are trash these days anyway, but still) BSC has been trying to help out by getting their CDL program off the ground and doubling the training units they have, along with starting a diesel tech program, but the insurance companies and Washington have both created the shortage and exacerbated the problem with all the new regulations. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk BSC CDL program : https://bismarckstate.edu/continuingeducation/business/Career-Pathways/Commercial-Driving-(CDL)/
  11. My room mate was a bartender at whiteys. Will have to check this out.
  12. just posted this morning. Little promo for the new Jersey. Also see how they are saying “NoDak Nights”…? Hmmmmm.. So excited for this season. Let’s go!
  13. Pretty sure his grandpa is Earl Strinden who is on the board of Edgewood REIT and played a role in the Ralph as well as commissioning the Sioux head as the logo. Just saying.
  14. If we can stay/get everyone healthy. I think we are in good shape for a great season. Manitoba has a good goalie. Question marks with our goalies… put in the Swede.
  15. Yeah, Fair enough. Fargo is bigger than I’d like to live in anyway. I’m just being an ass
  16. Famous Dav'es really? Jeeze... keeps adding up
  17. Yes, they just closed. Due to not enough staff
  18. The employee shortage would show otherwise in my opinion lol
