  1. The tough part with Buxton is we've seen a couple September flashes. Is that all they were though, flashes? Flashes against some other non-contending teams trotting out some young guys trying to get big league experience? I'm too lazy to look back but I'd imagine that is part of why Buxton has looked good in September previously. Or is it more than a flash? Can he get healthy and put together a consistent defensive and offensive season? As others have noted, his defense is elite. But so far Cave seems to be a suitable defensive replacement. No, he 's no Buxton, but he's suitable, and he seems to have a little more pop offensively. I'm sure some analytics guru can tell me that's completely false, but that's just the feeling I get from watching the team for the better part of the season.
  2. Is that department connected to this association in any way?:
  3. Sounding like Dozier to the Dodgers.
  4. Agreed on all of those things. I don't mean to point the finger at only Brian but he is the one that seems to be talking about it the most.
  5. I've always liked Dozier, I think he's a good teammate and clubhouse guy, but hearing rumors about him not being happy with the organization for selling right now.... Try hitting over .250 on the year and maybe your team wouldn't be selling, Brian.
  6. That's your opinion. My opinion is that shootouts suck.
  7. The other problem with the NHL system, like I said earlier, is that teams get a point just for making it to OT. You see too many games where teams just shut down and play for OT to make sure they get one point.
  8. It depends what side of the tie you're on IMO. If your team gives up a late lead and end up in a tie it leaves you thinking your team really gave one away. If your team comes back late to even the score and escape with a tie you kind of breath a sigh of relief feeling like you really stole a point. Ties were a part of hockey for a looooooooooooooooong time. I guess I don't understand the need to have a 'winner'.
  9. I think less games would go to OT if the NHL didn't have any idiotic point system that gives a point simply for just getting to OT.
  10. I hope they can find a way to resign Escobar in the offseason.
  11. Agreed. Think any realists should be able to tell that even if the Twins somehow miraculously run down Cleveland, they don't stand a great chance of going anywhere in the postseason. Especially with as good as the AL is. At the same time, if the organization sees any chance of making the playoffs, it's tough to turn down a couple home playoff games.
  12. If there are points on the line, I will stay to watch and cheer for my team. Doesn't mean I have to like methods by which points are obtained.
  13. That's true, and I'm guessing that is the point college hockey will get to.
  14. No, I'm the one fan that begrudgingly stays for the shootout and says "shootouts are so dumb" throughout the whole thing.
  15. Don’t care. I find it to be incredibly boring and most of the time too calculated. Its better than a shootout but just barely.
  16. Couldn’t they thrive on opposing fans making road trips?
  17. I like Dozier, but I agree. Don't give him a way for nothing, but if the Twins get even a decent offer for him I think they need to take it.
  18. Everything Vegas touches turns to gold, that wouldn't surprise me. Does have the Raiders moving there in the next couple of years help or hurt the chances of a MLB team there also? I don't follow the NBA much but I have to imagine they are going to want to get in on that market after seeing what the Knights did to the NHL.
  19. Anything besides a shootout, please......
  20. Yep, the first couple weeks out of the break will be telling. I think they have seven games against Cleveland during that stretch. That being said, I agree with SWSioux. It's time to start selling. I'd start with Dozier before he cools off.
