  1. Great get for UND! Coach Hutter is being active, I love it!
  2. Under a month to go before the first game, I'm eager to see how the new team looks under coach Hutter!
  3. 2000-2001 & Theresa LeCuyer inducted into the 2025 UND Athletics Hall Of Fame The 2000-2001 Fighting Sioux Women's Basketball team went 29-4 on the season. Led by the dominant Theresa LeCuyer, the Sioux would go on to advance to the national championship game against Cal Poly Pomona. UND would fall in overtime 87-80 but this team cemented their place as one of the top teams in UND history. They would beat Texas A&M-Kingsville 88-60 in the Elite 8, beat Shippensburg 76-67 in the final 4, and ultimately lose to Cal Poly Pomona 80-87 (OT) in the National Championship. This game marked the 4th and final championship appearance for UND. There's a video below of Coach Roebuck talking about Theresa LeCuyer and her induction to the hall of fame and also a website where you can watch the 2001 National Championship game if you wish to. You do need to sign up for an account, it is free to sign up, and search for "North Dakota Women's Basketball". They have the 1997, 1998, and 2001 National Championship games to watch for free on here. https://x.com/UNDsports/status/1969206498313015665 https://ncaachampionships.pd.dmh.veritone.com/ I also found a website with the 2000-2001 schedule and it has box scores and game write-ups for each game this season. It's fun to look back and see how each game went. This team was so talented. https://www.oocities.org/grovers50/women/0001schedule/0001schedule.htm

  5. The Gopher women released their non conference schedule and it appears that UND plays them in their home opener November 4th.
  6. New recruit!
  7. Let’s go!
  8. New recruit
  9. I wonder when the schedule will be released. August starts next week and I see a few schools already have schedules posted. The only games posted so far are the Paradise Jam and the Big Sky/Summit League challenge.
  10. I think it’s going to be a much improved year for UND. I love the intensity and how active our new coach is. I also like to see us getting back to recruiting local players. No more of this going to Michigan and Canada to recruit.
  11. Apologies if this has been covered but is there a reason why Gene Roebuck has not been inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame? He won more than 600 games, has a winning percentage of 81.2%, won 3 national championships, played in 4 national championship games, and was the 2006 Russell Athletic/WBCA Division II Region Coach of the Year. Am I missing something? I see Amy Ruley is in the hall of fame, I see no reason why Gene Roebuck shouldn't be.
  12. Personally, I’m more interested in the current members on the team. Hasn’t this been hashed to death by now? Let’s invest in the girls who stayed and decided to join UND. I don’t have any ill will towards anyone who left the team, even if they decided to go to NDSU. The future is bright with coach Hutter and the girls he brought in.
  13. Another one
  14. I’m really excited to see the product on the court next year with Hutter as the head coach. He seems to have this program going in the right direction.
  15. Looks like Coach Hutter got another one!
  16. I’m liking what I’m seeing from Hutter so far. He is working hard to get good players.
  17. In other news
  18. That’s disappointing, she could have been a UND legend. It is what it is, moving on to players who want to be at UND.
  19. Interesting. Iowa State is losing their all time leading assister this year so that could be a good fit.
  20. Yep. Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. It’s funny how they can seem to find local players good enough to play for the Jackrabbits but UND has to go to Canada and Michigan to do so.
  21. I’m glad to be getting back to recruiting local players.
  22. It sucks to have these players enter the portal but if that’s what had to happen to get a better coach, I can stomach it. The women’s basketball program deserves better and the results straight up have not been acceptable for a while now.
  23. What post?
