My favorite part: Mario single-handedly battling not 1, not 2, but 3 Gopher players right in front of the net and he’s the one that gets to the puck for a goal.

The epitome of both UND hockey and UMN hockey all in one scene. :)

i have said the same thing many times. mario was never a prolific goal scorer, but no one worked harder on the ice.  he had 1 goal coming into the game, and scores 2 in the game..loved it!

Other than our friends at 1310 knox boycotting businesses that are requiring guests to wear them, how do masks contribute to unemployment?

dude, if you have a problem with knox, dont listen.  you are free to turn it off and find something else that tells you what you want to here

Watching these old games, some have noted the difference in the way the obstruction penalties are called in today's game.  Two questions:

First,  we Sioux fans were very vocal about our belief that the obstruction was out of hand with Parise and that something had to be done.  I recall fans claiming that obstruction in the college game was part of the reason he left to NJ when he did.   Anyone have reliable information that that claim was true?  For all I know, Zach may have said it himself in an interview.

Second, was the change in the way obstruction is called good for the college game?  I'm not talking about the way cfb is called--that's a safety measure.   Just hooking, interference, holding--that kind of stuff.

I was thinking the same thing.  The one that stands out is Kieth Ballard....Everytime he got checked or went down his first instinct was to clutch and grab or hold the opponents stick.  Actually pretty crappy to watch, compared to today's style of play

    Alex Brooks, right?

i think that was his name.  if i remember correctly, the kid kinda took a run at commodore, and mike turned around and just started pummeling him.  he even tried to drop to the ice, but mike held him up to keep going, if im remembering correctly

We were just talking about this at work yesterday.  We thought the same thing.
In late January something went around the shop that took each of us out for a couple days.  One of the guys couldn't stop coughing.  Another one had difficulty breathing and had to go to urgent care.  We're convinced that like 4-5 of us have already had corona and recovered from it.

    same thing where i work.

One of my favorite memories is watching Brett Hextall draw three penalties between puck drops. At least that is what I am remembering.

Guy must have had a way with words.
Anyone else recall this or recall who we were playing?

i belive you are reffering to the Denver series.

The only reason attendance will suck again at the regional sites is because they are off campus. The best regional I ever attended was the Holy Cross regional at the Ralph. Probably the best college atmosphere of any sport I've ever attended.

The BU-UND Overtime game in Fargo was a close second, minus the outcome.  Didn't sit for almost the whole game

Gopher hockey to see additional ticket price cuts

"Last summer the school announced some ticket price reductions, and began selling beer and wine in the arena for the first time."

"Per the announcement this week, more than 75% of all season tickets sold for the current season will see a price decrease for the 2020-21 season, and there will be no price increases for season tickets."

    https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/hockey/4975231-Gopher-hockey-to-see-additional-ticket-price-cuts

"The Gophers are currently third in the country in average attendance, behind North Dakota and Wisconsin, with an average of 8,231 tickets distributed for each of their 17 home games. That is up slightly from the 7,944 they averaged last season in 22 home games."

While the goofs are lowering ticket prices there are still way more fans than a few on here claim to count.

tickets distributed, and butts in the seats are two very different things.......

  9. the thing that stood out to me, about Thome, was his calm demeanor in net.  one shot, in particular, was an absolute screen shot, in which he calmly flipped his glove out and made the save.  that shot had top corner, glove side written all over it, and he made the save like it was a wednseday  afternoon practice.  not sure how he even saw the puck.
