  1. I will toss out my fav 4... 1. Goophies without a doubt 2. BC Beagles 3. SCSU JC 4. Michigan (until recently, they've hosed us too many times) 5. Denver 6-10. Everyone else
  2. From the Fargo Forum: GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - University of North Dakota officials say that athletic director Tom Buning has taken a leave of absence. UND spokesman Peter Johnson says Buning's duties will be handled by members of the current athletic department staff. No further details were made available. The 47-year-old Buning was hired in June of 2005 after four years as associate athletic director at Army. He's an Army lieutenant colonel and a 1981 West Point graduate. Tom Buning UND athletic director Buning replaced Roger Thomas after Thomas resigned to become commissioner of the North Central Conference. UND is moving from NCAA Division II athletics to Division I beginning next school year.
  3. Why does what keep happening? AD's being fired? I can't think of an AD that was fired (in the last couple decades anyway)
  4. This is all news to me. Are we waiting for a news conference or just pure speculation? BTW: Why the reference to the whole athletic department? Are other positions at risk?
  5. Been a long time since I have been on the board, but I noticed that the old logo is being used on the front of this forum page as well. Can't they fix that one either? Good to be back. Hope to make it to Columbus!!! Looks like it will be a "game time" decision for me. I can only make it to the finals so we had better get there (is there any question??) Later, Kev
  6. I would like to see Sandy get offered the job but I don't think he will take it. He has a good thing going right now in UMD. Also Sandy (and I believe his wife) are from the "range" area and they really like it there. Besides Scotty just built a new house there. With Scott as head coach and Dave and Brad right where they are would be a formitable combination. I just thinks its wishful thinking. Its been said many times before how loyal Dean is and thats why he had to recommend Dave as head coach. If not it would have been a real slap in the face.
  7. I won't go as far to say that Burning drove out Coach Blais, but I do know that if Coach Blais had the ability to put ice in the old arena, he would have seriously considered it. Word is that Burning is on a 30 "probation" but who's to say that whoever comes in after him will be any better? REA has turned into a money grubbing hound and looks like it will bend the U over and ream them for ever penny they can get.
  8. I'll agree to this. You should also add that his English vocabulary has got to range further than the F bomb.
  9. I got a call into the man who makes all the travel arrangements (he's my brother). As soon as he gets back to me I can relay the info to you guys. Take care. Kev
  10. Brad Winchester, the senior captain of the University of Wisconsin men's hockey team, was arrested early Sunday after he allegedly punched a police officer repeatedly outside a campus bar. Winchester's future with the hockey program is uncertain. Things are not looking good for Bucky.
  11. I am scarred to vote. Then again I don't give a damn what this stupid poll says. I can't believe this even warrants a response. I JUST WANT A WIN!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Yeah I'm sure Ranfranz is better than the other 3 goalies on the team. That's why he got cut! Come on, try to make some sence. If he is so #### good, why didn't he even make the team this fall? I've watched Ranfranz play for several years here in Rochester and he is ok at best. He will need to make a mighty big step up in his game to make it at the D1 level. I wish him well but he is not the savior you are hoping for. Right now, Jake looks to be the best option. Any more word on this kid from Minot State U. coming over? Again not a savior, but just wondering what they are supposed to do with 5 goalies plus another one signed to play next year.
  13. It has the WCHA patch on it but no name. I am 100% sure it is a game worn jersey since I got from someone within the athletic department. It has the stick marks and all. My thought was maybe for a time they just didn't put names on the backs of jerseys (i.e. like the NY Yankees). In any case just wondering if anyone knows who might have had the number 29 for those years.
  14. I need a little help identifying a game worn jersy I own. I seen a picture if it in the new arena and the caption said it was 1995. It is a green jersey with North Dakota printed on the front. No other emblems are on it. The jersey number is 29. Can anyone tell me who wore the jersey and what year(s) this jersey was worn? Thanks in advance for your help.
