    Had to dig deep- Roseau Rams twitter feed updates via Roseau Rams high school hockey website. Looks like the Rams spanked irondale 8-1 so they will play DL for the championship. Minot beat Park Rapids 7-1 in the consolation bracket. Good showing by ND teams!

    I knew this was coming. I think the BHS and central game was an outlier. But yes, "different teams match up differently to different teams." Hockey is a crazy game and all it takes is a few good bounces to swing the score and the momentum. So anyone can beat anyone truly...other than Hazen Beulah

    Well...the fact that BHS is by FAR the best team in the west and has gone 0-2 vs eastern teams so far...it's pretty easy to predict that the east will be stronger at the end of the year.

    Anybody else think the U.S. should have declined the penalty shot and made Russia serve the penalty late in the game?  Tough call, but I think given the situation and crappy ice I go a man up for the remainder of the game.  Doesn't matter right now, but a talking point.  

    Even if it was an option, I would only ask for that if it was one of my goon D-man awarded the shot. The type of goon d-man that has 1 lifetime hockey career goal. Having an unpressed breakaway will almost always give you a better look than a 2 minute PP.

    Mostly 2 but they had a solid 3rd line that had quite a bit of ice time. They didn't have a dominate line by any means, but they didn't lose much from 1 to 3. Good point, their lack of numbers may have contributed to them looking gased.

    I was at the game. DL had an edge the 1st period but it ended 0-0. RR had the edge in the 2nd period and got up 1-0. Then RR seemed to take over a little more in the 3rd. DL had plenty of chances to score still, but RR was able to capitalize on a few odd man rushes. Good to see some of the older kids step up for RR, but again I wasn't impressed with Costello. He seemed to blend in with his teammates and with DL.

    DL seemed to run out of steam in the 3rd period, so I'm assuming their conditioning reps will increase after that game! Should be a decent match up next time they meet. 

    RR was a better team than I was anticipating after seeing the results of the GFC vs RR game. GFC must be fantastic, I look forward to catching one of their games soon!

    I agree. That is the first thing that I thought of when I first heard it. It seems a little embarrassing for UND.

    Man, central is tough! 

    Looking more and more like I had too high of hopes for Jamestown. Tough loss there to a good Davies team but I thought it would have been closer. 

    DL is still rolling. I plan to watch them play RR on Thursday. That should be a good match up! 

    Hopefully century didn't beat HB by 20+ tonight.

    Spoiled brat behavior is by no means exclusive to GPR, but I have seen some of their players openly taunt the other team at the State Hockey Tournament, so that is why it sticks with me. Also, a lot of their fans are insufferable to be around, at least at the games.

    During my time playing in the East Region, it was well known that GPR was the most disrespectful and hated team, followed closely by GFRR. It seemed like an agreement between all other teams that played them. Playing in summer leagues with them and against them only solidified those feelings. There were usually plenty of respectable kids in each of those programs, but they consistantly had a lot of gems that kept up that bad reputation. It was no secret
