  1. Getting Hayden Reynolds is great for UND's program. He's one of the top athletes in the entire 2017 graduation class from the state of North Dakota. Hayden is a tremendous athlete - he also excels at baseball and basketball. I can see great things from him in the coming years, likely at an OLB or SS. It certainly would be nice to see the above kids on UND's roster. Mauch, Hankey, and Jepson should all be on UND's radar as they are also top talents in the 2017 class from our state. It would be a mistake for UND to lose these kids to NDSU - so the staff at UND needs to throw them a bone and not give up on these talented kids. The fan base from our state loves getting the best we have to offer. If Hankey does play baseball, good for him. If you're going to get the chance to compete in college sports, play what you enjoy! It'll make the college experience a good one. Heard from a reliable source that Mauch is really looking at either NDSU or UND. We'll see what happens, but if you didn't seen the kid play football these past couple years you missed out. He may be from a small 9 man program but he quite possibly is the top talent in this year's class from the state. He could play either DE or TE at this college level and he catches everything thrown his way. He's not the fastest kid in terms of a college prospect but he has tremendous blocking skills and he's not afraid of contact. He dominated at the 9 man level and was double and triple teamed most times. He's also a beast on the basketball court and consistently scores over 20 PPG and gets double digits in rebounds. Rare talent, huge frame at 6'5", and could still grow more.
  2. you are correct - and I have went tailgating a couple of times in Fargo. Both times I sported my UND Fighting Sioux apparel and I was jabbed but I wore it proudly.
  3. don't get me wrong, I certainly wouldn't mind a Bison loss. Overall, I just believe UND fans show a lot more class. It is correct that a NDSU fan will never, ever root for a UND team. If NDSU wins, One thing I promise that we will again witness is them chanting in Frisco that the Sioux suck. Yeah, it's a rivalry. However, you're not playing against UND so show some class and give up the chant. I believe this "chant" by NDSU fans is a big reason why the NCAA stepped in and took the name from us. Case in point - You don't see UND fans cheering "Buck the Fison" when we win hockey championships....Go Sioux
  4. UND sports fan here, but also a fan of the state of ND. The only good thing that would come out of a NDSU loss would be to quiet some of the NDSU fan base who think they can do no wrong. They can be a cocky bunch, but in reality by winning 5 in a row I can see why. The biggest difference that I've always appreciated by UND fans are that most of us typically support other ND programs (NDSU) when they are still left in the playoffs. In my opinion, the greater good is the fact that both programs have some local kids that I feel we should always support. We don't want to stoop to the level of those rabid NDSU fans who only want a UND loss (in any sport) or spew their usual "Sioux suck" chant. Just my two cents, but I've always believed UND fans are a higher level of class.
  5. Take Chase Teiken from West Fargo off the recruiting board - he committed to Northern State. Great news for this kid, I'm sure with the JJ transfer & UND already loaded at RB he felt Northern was a better fit. I hope the program still nabs a couple ND kids that are still there... Mauch, Jepsen, Hankey, the Hofers, Santos... to name a few. Getting local talent drives the fan base.
  6. Mauch was a monster in the 9 man ranks of ND. I believe without a doubt that he could play either TE or DE at the FCS level.
  7. Best UND game ever??? Watching Kleinsasser run wild past the Bison secondary at the Fargodome. Man against boys. No doubt that game is #1 in my book.
  8. Does anyone have any word on any of these ND kids? We know about Metz & Willis at NDSU, and I heard Wyatt Carr is going to UMary to play BBB. Teiken is an absolute beast for West Fargo and he has the size to play RB or LB in college. I've also seen Cody Mauch play from Hankinson, he's 6'5 about 230. Has great hands at TE, can block, and is a beast at DE. He's also playing some QB this Fall because their regular QB has shoulder issues, so he's a proven athlete & rare talent. He threw a hail mary in one game over 60 yards on a rope. These are two of the top high school talents that I've seen this year.
