  1. No doubt you have better facilities than the rest of us. I'm waiting for our Ralph to surface. I wonder if their stance on DI has changed in the last year.
  2. Clarence Kooistra has tried on repeated occasions to try and block SDSU's move to DI. He has failed on all attempts and carries absolutely no clout or respect in the legislature. If there is one legislator we would want opposing this move he is the one. Since the move was approved by the Board of Regents we have added a proponent in the Govenor who is an SDSU grad and other supporters in the Board of Regentswho have been appointed by the Govenor. If you knew anything about Clarence Kooistra you would understand his bills are usually are DOA and this stand is no different. There is absolutley no chance the DI move will be reversed. You should spend more time lobbying your own administration to wake up and move up with the rest of us.
  3. Overqualified is more like it!
  4. I was doing the same. Thanks for the nice gesture. We hope to represent the NCC well next week!
  5. You have must have stayed up all night to come up with such a thought provoking post as that!
  6. You hate to spread rumors but that is what you are doing. Vogel has stated that she came to State for the atmosphere and the ability to play DI ball. She was quoted as saying she was looking forward to competing at a higher level. After the elite 8 there will be nothing for the coaching staff or players to prove at the DII level. All you have to do is look at the schools in the Elite 8 to realize it's time for schools like SDSU,NDSU and UND to move on.
  7. Agree on all points. I think 975 was a good crowd considering distance from both schools and isolated on a Monday night. The UND and SDSU fans were both very vocal and supporting of their respective schools. I did see the CSP coach there and do believe they made every effort to make the tournament as professional as possible considering the inadaquate size of the venue.
  8. The announcers bit I got was second hand from Jacks fans who moved over when the SDSU online broadcast went south for a bit. I thought the refs as a whole were lousy the entire tournament. I shared with a few people that the refs for the Jacks first and second round games were some of the worst I had ever seen. To your point they were bad both ways including the championship game. All you ever ask for is consistency and we never saw that. The first half there were virtually no fouls called and opening the second half they were calling every touch fall. I believe the exchange you were referring to was a obvious no call towards the end of regualtion after a Sioux player made an easy layup that resulted in a 3 point play. At the other end a Jack player was virtually hammered and no call. I have no problem with letting the players decide it at end but call it that way both ways.
  9. Your assuming those were unforced errors. The Jacks were up in their grill and forced many of those turnovers and altered shots that initiated the poor shooting and the 21-4 start. I would hardly call 38% shooting our best game either but I will at least acknowledge your defense had something to do with it. Maybe you should talk to a Sioux Fan who was there before you start your diatribe of excuses to explain the loss or minimize the Jacks win.
  10. Legend-come on is that your best response. I acknowledge our men got it handed to them Sunday night. Where was your mens team? Oh that's right we elimated them as well. I've had sane exchanges with posters on this board and Sioux Fans I met in St Paul. You only seem interested in confrontatinal smack and thats what I'm throwing back at you and all you do is whine. Kind of like your announcers on the game last night from what I understand. If Aaron decided he wants to continue to coach at the DII level that's fine. I'm sure there are plenty of candidates who would love to take the Jacks job with Freshman sensation Megan Vogel returning for another 3 years. I honestly think the SDSU and NDSU women basketball teams will have the easiest transition to DI Basketball. I think the best NCC teams (UND included) could compete with teams outside the Top 25 right now. Maybe the UND administration will come to their senses soon and realize they should make the move to DI.
  11. Corella and Legend- Probably won't hear much smack from you today. Jacks win third consecutive regional and send UND packing again. I had an opportunity to see it in person and will say it was a classic battle between two heavyweights. UND very fortunate in the first half that Jacks didn't run away with it. When SDSU went up 21-4 we had 3-4 chances to extend the lead further but took some ill advised 3 point shots. Second half was a see saw back and forth game where both teams tried to take control. In the end the team with superior talent and a better opportunity to take the crown again prevailed. I liked nothing better than watching Leighton who hurt her team again by getting into foul trouble walk off without that smug look on her face. With the Rabbits now gone for greener pastures maybe the UND basketball teams can try and recapture their glory days. We win all 3 games against your Mens team and split with the women but win the one that really counts! Let me repeat a chant that your UND following heard repeatedly in St Paul. 1,2,3,4 tell the people who your for S D S U SDSU Fight JACKS Fight 234
  12. For their sake they should be thankful I got up and changed seats after the UND/NDSU game as I would have given them quite a hard time the way the SDSU/CSP game played out. Good luck tonight!
  13. I'd say if we just lost to the eventual National Champion regardless of the score and they continue to beat the rest of the field in the same fashion I would call 27-7 a very successful season. SDSU had one of the most difficult non-conference schedules and finished 16-0. I guess in your eyes anything short of a National Championship for the Jacks was a bad season. I guess you don't have the same benchmark for your own club. If the Jacks were a failure by winning the most games in school history what would you label the UND season at 14-14? Will the UND women be a failure this year if they lose to the Jacks tonight?
  14. Legend-what can I say we got our asses handed to us last night by a much superior team and most likely National Champion. I can't recall a Nagy coach team ever being beaten like that. Did we meet the expectations of a team with this much talent NO! We played well against Northern Friday night but couldn't compete with the talent Metro has and evidently nobody else recently has either. I wouldn't call a 27-7 season a failure either!
  15. I wasn't there but listened to it on the internet. The one thing SDSU stressed was critical to have any success against a team like Metro was to limit turnovers and rebound. We had close to 20 turnovers in the first half under the constant pressure and were down big in the first half even though we shot over 50%. Metro is a school with mostly foreign exchange students that our 25,26 years old and it was a men vs boys. Andy Moeller played well but was alone. Matt Jones dressed but could not play after playing the previous night. We are just not athletic enough inside without him. I'm afraid these are the kind of beatings we will take for a while as we ramp up our program to the next level. It would have been nice to repay them for the one point loss they gave us two years ago in Brookings in the Championship game of the regional. They went on to win the National Championship that year and suspect they will do the same this year as they have one 28 in a row and play Kearney who they have beaten bad 3 times this year.
  16. The comical thing about CSP and Gangelhoff seating arrangement was I arrived early for the UND and NDSU game and I believe mothers of the players were saving huge blocks of seats for CSP fans that I guess had failed to arrive. When I told them I thought it was all General Admission they said go sit in the SDSU section I retorted its full and sat there anyway. Some of the CSP faithful were chirping about the poor seats they had in Brookings. I pointed out at least you could buy a reserved seat. Seems to be more than a touch of racism in the CSP posters comments. We don't need him/her on our bandwagon as we are just fine without that kind of attitude!
  17. I was impressed with the crowd presence by all three schools UND,NDSU and SDSU. SDSU had a good crowd considering there are a number of fans in Denver for the semi-final game against #1 Metro.
  18. Corella, sorry to dissapoint you. Jacks win in a laugher 74-39. It's funny you lost respect for us yet we tied for the conference championship not with UND but NDSU. UND was lucky to win either of their regional games while Jacks march on. By the way if you want to talk about crowds Jacks fans outnumbered Concordia fans and we will be back in force to hopefully win our 3rd consecutive North Central Regional.
  19. The host, coach and member of the North Central Regional Selection Committee is Paul Nessler of Concordia who can be reached at Fessler@csp.edu I shared my opinion of his ticket purchasing process and facility.
  20. I saw the same thing in disbelief. Imagining standing in line an hour before the game. I belief everyone should have an opportunity to host an event like this however you should have to show your prepared to handle it.
  21. I would have to say Jamel Staten was the best player I saw this year. I think Joe Green would have gotten Freshman of the year if he had stayed healthy. I like the fact that arrogant Josh Mueller of USD did not make the all conference team!
  22. Maybe if UND had offered up the Ralph to host the Regional they would have said no to St Paul. I know I would have made one more trip to Grand Forks to see a game in that fine facility!
  23. The conference tournaments have very little effect on regional seedings. They are purely a vehicle to give the conference celler dwellers an opportunity to win the conference tournament and advance to the regional.
  24. You obviously have not been to Frost in recent years. The entire North side is permenent back seats and full of season ticket holders and both ends will have permenent seats this summer. I will take outdoor Coughlin Stadium over that Grain Bin you call Alerus Center!
