  1. ok,6 points behind the goofs.tied with the dogz..have 2 more wcha games than both of these teams left.the gofs really let us hang around for that 4th spot by only getting 1 point this weekend.they could have buried the sioux..the gofs have 3 of 4 games left on the road.2 at m-tech and home and home with st cloud.. maybe thats a good thing for them since they have been so bad at home.. the dogz are at denver and have wisconsin at home. very tough.we also have a tough run, they are not top teams we are playing on the road but they are on the road! oh yeah, we play wisconin at home, pretty tough as well..this should be fun to follow and hope the sioux can make a run at th 4th spot

  2. back to being tied for 10th as of early sunday morning here. just got home and checked the pwr..nice to see the gofs tie and only get 1 point this weekend....tied with BU and right behind harvard and ohio state for a 2 seed in the tourney...this not playing thing is working ok :0;)

time to get some well needed sleep!!

  3. i don't know if deserving getting in the nc$$'a means much if they get awarded a birth in the tourney. who cares as long as we get in. i do understand though what you guys are stating. we have not exactly tore it up this year..the crazy thing is yes, we are only a few games above .500. but that does qualify the sioux if the season ended now as a 3 seed of all things due to the tough schedule the sioux played so far.they are benefiting a lot by having minn, cc, denver and wisc in the top 5 or 10 for most of the season...#11 alone in the pairwise. is it great? hell no but thats how it falls when breaking down the pairwise. obviously the season is not over and they still have work to be done. they do have tough games left like MAFIAMAN has stated so they better come out flying. road games are always tough no matter what but if we can get that 4th seed into the playoffs with all of these upsets happening and have umd play minn in the 1st round of wcha playoffs then things can get very interesting.next make a mini run into the ncaa's and anything can happen as we noticed last year with denver. murray will spark them HOPEFULLY and then we stop hitting the damn pipes and start lighting the lamp.

    THATS MY RANT..GO SIOUX

  4. 59 shots for the gofs and the alaska goalie saves 57...holy sh!&

very nice to check the scores and see the goofs loose, wisc and cc loose..crazy night in the wcha.....

we are also sitting at #11 in the pairwise now so you don't play and move up..very nice...

  5. this site is great, poi was a great info site as well for the college hockey fan.

thanks for this site . i really appreciate it as a college hockey fan and SIOUX FAN

went to gopherpucklive.com as well and noticed a warning that the site may be folding as well if they do not fix some things..very tough to do if you are doing it on your own or with a couple of partners, time and effort wise...

  6. i just picked 10 players that thought of from my head. no reason i skipped 10 years but write ins are good also...kidd was fun to watch as well..

I picked Hrkac, pure magic to watch.  I used to like to watch Scott Dub and Ian Kidd too.  I think it is odd that of the 10 listed, 2 were in '87 and the rest are since '97, what happened in the 10 years in between?  I notice most "write-ins" come from that time, was the program that much of a black hole?  I was away from GF for most of those years and it was before the internet caught on, I didn't even get my first computer until '95, couldn't follow the Sioux like I can today.

  7. those guys were great to watch. i bet i could have put 50 players on the list and they all would have recieved votes! great tradition....

I think my favorites are all omitted except for Karl G.

    Kevin Spiewak

    Jason Notermann

    Travis Roche

These guys played a big role in a championship team and a runner up in the NCAA's

  8. wed feb 9th AHL....

hershey 4 lowell 3...ryan bayda 1 goal (lowl) and jeff ulmer 1 assist (hersh)

albany 3 springfield 1. zach parise (alb) 1 shorthanded goal, 1 assist.

syracuse 4 san antonio 1..jeff panzer (syr)1 goal. karl goehring(syr) gets the win stopping 24 of 25 shots

  9. 1. I agree but thats how the numbers fall, i see them ending up with a 2 seed when the season ends.

    2. same thing, the numbers work with you when you play top 10 teams on a week by week basis. I see the sioux ending up with a 3 seed unless they go on a sweep party in the last 3 series and play well in the final 5 and then they may be able to move up to a 2 seed. YES I AM A OPTIMIST

noticed today that BC fell to a tie in the 4th spot in the pairwise after getting beat by BU in the beanpot

Two things stand out as hard to believe:
  10. I thought about roche and blake and greene and many many others. wish i could have added more players but they only allowed me 10 choices...

i picked hrkac but my favorite player is jake brandt... just like his style...i was a goalie when I was a kid so thats the reason..belfour and goehring as well, i loved watching the eagle even though he was not at UND to long...

  11. Just bored with the week off so just curious out of these 10 players who are the past favorites. Started from 1987 up to last season. You can only have 10 choices so I had to leave out many greats... I know there are many more sioux favorites that everyone likes so sorry if I did not include your favorite.....I think there was already a favorite current player poll in the last year so sorry for not including any of them....

WRITE IN VOTES ARE OK

    GO SIOUX..........

  16. last season in november i was in denver for the series and i believe parise was in net. the puck was loose right in front of the net and one of the sioux players fell on the puck and intentionlly froze the puck in the crease maybe with his hand. they called a penalty shot and parise stoned him. it was great, the whole place was on their feet. the only one i have seen at a sioux game or ever!!
