article in herald on players taking out insurance on their bodies..great idea and this will be a growing trend for top tier athletes who have been drafted or who will be drafted early in their respected drafts...i first heard of this when willis mcgahee running back of miami took out insurance before he got his leg snapped in half in the fiesta bowl vs ohio st. i believe matt leinhart also has this along with many other top athletes across the country... from the herald article... Tim Oshie said his son T.J., a UND freshman and first-round pick of the St. Louis Blues, is not insured yet. But, Tim said it's something he's looking into. On Nov. 4, the Oshies had a scare when T.J. was checked from behind into the boards against Wisconsin. T.J.'s head was smacked into the Plexiglas, and he lay sprawled out on the ice. T.J. got up a few seconds later, though, and skated off the ice. "It does make you nervous," Tim said. http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/s...ta/13265581.htm

i always like to see wcha teams do well in non wcha games but the gophers will be playing and i can say i wouldn't mind seeing them get beat this weekend...on the other hand if they keep winning then come into the ralph in 2 weeks it could make for a even more interesting series..

well, mich tech has not scored a goal in 180 minutes of play..yeah thats 3 whole games..if you want to get technical it has been 198 minutes and 6 seconds sice they have scored a goal...wow..thats what you call a drought..you can look at it 2 ways, either they are very very due for a goal or 2 or 3 or jordy may be adding to his shutout numbers...lets hope its the 2nd... this is a trip i want to make someday just to do it..i heard its a blast way up dare...

http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/scratches.php college hockey injury report..very nice information to report! everyone seems to have original name posted then it goes to Rusty Spirko nice............ North Dakota Rusty Spirko Knee questionable for Nov. 4 weekend Robbie Bina Broken vertebra Out for season, medical redshirt articles from wisconsin papers The Capitol Times "NHL Loves Sioux's Big Blueliners" http://www.madison.com/tct/sports/uw/hocke...d=60407&ntpid=2 "They've always played the same way," Badgers coach Mike Eaves said, giving an opponent's perspective on one of the most successful programs of the last decade. "(Former coach) Dean Blais set the foundation there and they have always had big guys. Their identity is to play aggressive. They don't care how many penalties they take, they're going to play aggressive come hell or high water. Because they believe in their goaltending and their ability to kill penalties. They're just going to be relentless in their ability to play hard and see if you can handle it." another comment ragarding opposing teams playing at the ralph by mike eaves from INCH http://insidecollegehockey.com/7Archives/N...6/wcha_0407.htm Despite going 0-3-1 at the Ralph in his three previous seasons running the Wisconsin program, Eaves says he likes visiting the palace on the prairie.

from the herald http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/sports/13066968.htm Junior Erik Fabian, who was held out of Saturday's game against Denver with an upper-body injury, skated with the team Wednesday. His status for the weekend series remains in question, though.
