i think we know there is more to it than dominating the wcha. its what atlanta wants out of him. they may want him in the system next season and not mess with the possibility of losing him as a free agent. there are just so many factors to why they sign when they sign behind the scenes. does it always make sense? no way but i have thought he was a 50/50 guy to leave after this season back in november.

like 95% of college players that get signed he would be in the AHL not the NHL for 2-3 years before he gets his shot. he very well could be gone after this season along with the others. NHL teams are more than likely to sign most kids that they drafted in the first 2-4 rounds after their 3rd year so they dont risk losing them as a free agent after their 4th year.

If North Dakota defeats CC in the WCHA final, for example, the RPIs will change enough to flip things, making CC a No. 2 seed in its own regional. Either way, the committee will have the dilemma mentioned above, where Minnesota State would be in line to play the Tigers. But, trying to avoid that same-conference matchup, the Mavericks could be flipped with the ECAC champ. There's another scenario with Air Force (see below). North Dakota and CC would then be aligned for a second-round game in Colorado Springs, after perhaps just having played in St. Paul. This is not really favorable to anyone, and I've recommended in the past that the committee try to avoid these second-round matchups, like it used to do. But it hasn't done that since going to a 16-team field in 2003. It now ignores second-round implications.

if there is another upset in conference tourneys which there are 2 possible, msu or gophs will be right on the bubble with a gopher loss thursday and uw out no matter what i think with clarkson not winning their conference tourney....crazy

you may be right as he did that the week before he had the hatty, i think he practiced on one of the bottom lines all week and worked hard and played on that top line that weekend. i bet they are together as well

its pretty simple - kangas is the gophers team, the whole team. take him and out and the long island frazee himself comes in and its final 5 time fro the purple cows we are digging way to deep into this. the formula was simple. take kangas out and its st paul!! he stays in and plays great = final 5 for gophers no matter how bad their offense is. his save on that breakaway was very nice!
