im sure matt doesnt mind getting a pro rated check for even a day up in the nhl compared to a week or 3 in the ahl as im assuming hes on a 2 way contract. maybe not though. i bet next year he cracks the top 6 as a d man and stays up for a while. the player whos really stuck is matt jones in phx as he signed a 2 year deal and thought he had a solid shot and david hale took that spot in a way. jones can play in the nhl and has shown that but its a numbers game in his situation

not sure on this call up. usually its because of 1 d man going down and needing a 7th guy in case of anything else going wrong. at least hes always the first guy called up.

Bozak hurt his knee on a knee-to-knee hit with Andrew Sackrison of MSU-Mankato last weekend. Both players were hurt on the play. Bozak, who many people (myself included) picked to be the player of the year in the WCHA, had to have surgery. According to Denver's site, the target is to have him back for the playoffs. Bozak is thought to be the most coveted NHL free agent in college hockey. this is a big time blow for DU, they are very talented as we all know but this kid could have won wcha player of the year if he kept his play up. bozak can flat out play

The Sioux open this tourney vs Michigan State. The Spartans who the Sioux play on Saturday December 27th haven't won a game since October 31st beating Western Michigan. Since then they have a record of 0-9-2 and a 4-2 loss to the USA U18 team this last Tuesday. The Wolverines play Michigan Tech to open this tourney are 3-3 in their last 6 games.
