that is right but also you take the risk of not getting signed by that team that drafted you if you do decide to stay 4 years so if edmonton presents a normal offer he could easily leave and that would be the right move on his part to get in their ahl system asap and play in a much higher level of hockey
-
yeah 2 way contracts which most draft picks get are around 60-100 in the ahl and then its kicks way up around 450 minimum i believe in the nhl if i remember right. vv is a 4th round pick. many 4th rounders dont see the nhl and some do. some take 3 years and some take a year in the ahl. thats why nhl teams will sign a middle round pick after his junior year to get him in their systema and to see how their pick pans out. there isnt anythng wrong with leaving after your junior year if you aren nhl ready. theres a huge misconception with many college hockey fans that a player needs to be nhl ready in order to leave. thats far from the case and always has been

bored , so broke down the scoring by classes. i had no idea how balanced it was class by class with the 3 juniors really holding their own in the asissts. im also countain miller as a D when grouping the players. i think i got these right 104 total goals and 173 assists through 30 games stats through 30 games FRESHMAN - 6 players - 2 (D) and 4 (F) 52 points - 25g, 27a SOPHMORE - 6 players - 2 (D) and 4 (F) 66 points - 27g, 39a JUNIOR - 3 players - 1 (D) and 2 (F) 60 points - 13g, 47a SENIOR - 7 players - 3 (D) and 4 (F) 99 points - 39g, 60a

if your nhl teams believes you may need 2-3 years in the ahl then thats a great reason to want him in next year as the clocks ticking on draft picks and you take the risk of losing a draft pick if he plays out his 4 years then may become a free agent. pretty much every player out there plays a year at least in the ahl unless you are a top first round pick and still a handful of them do as well. i hope he comes back but wouldnt be suprised if he left either.

nothing at all. its a hell of a acomplishment if he becomes a midle of the road nhl player. lets remember he was a 4th rd draft pick. not a 1st or 2nd. i think people forget that. he could end up being a very solid center in the nhl and could be a career up and down guy but either way good for him. vv is a bigger prospect than porter was overall from where he was picked.

yeah, it was mentioned a couple weeks ago and it sounds like he will be back at und next year and i think that came directly from brad on his blog. he has been very good in the ushl this season. it will be great to see him back if so

yes they did. i didnt say it doesnt work. i was referring to the sioux and titles. not DU but that wasnt my point, thats not the reason we havent won a ncaa title since 2000, just was stating that it could work either way. thats all go sioux
