  1. per brad http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/ Weekly Wednesday update UND coach Dave Hakstol said this afternoon that he's not sure whether Jason Gregoire will travel to Wisconsin. That decision will be made later on tonight and the team will leave Thursday by air. Hakstol also said that David Toews is healthy and available for the weekend.
  2. we didnt as that post is off base with joe getting hurt
  3. he very well could. all it takes is 1 team to love a player and do it and you see it every year in the nhl draft. wouldnt suprise me one bit. i will guess and say he will be a 2nd rounder but if there is 1 team in love with his skills he could be a late 1st rounder. also i think those rankings were for north american skaters, not euros as well. i may be wrong on that though. som mock drafts ive seen has mattson a late 2nd or early 3rd.
  4. ive heard he isnt. thats all im going with. umd had been on olsen late and also they have been recruiting AJHLers for a while now getting top tier AJHLers at that. i would love to have morin at und, hes a friken stud player but have had a few sources say its not happening. i think hes been a major junior guy all along form the get go from rumblings on a few boards and reading articles. i would love to be 100% wrong though ps.......your dvds you won are on the way!
  5. morin has had major juniors written all over him since day 1 but a slim chance of ncaa because of his family ties to a couple different universities. there has been mentions of academic struggles as well. he isnt coming to und, there is always ways to make room for any player if need be but he isnt coming here
  6. yeah it is posted in the former players thread. nice scrap. greene took it to him early. even match up of former sioux bruisers
  7. i would say 2nd or early 3rd rounder at latest i wouldnt list that as blue chipper - i would reserve that term for parise, toews, stafford, zajac as being locks as high 1st round picks now that doesnt mean he wont be as productive as those players for the sioux or in the nhl as mattson has sick skills but personally i only use blue chip on a select number of players but thats just me mattson, kristo and cichy are gona be big time scorers in the wcha - also knight and rowney i am very excited to see, we have a nice crop of forwards coming in also its way early to predict if he will be a 2,3 or 4 year player. you never know. tj was a late 1st rounder and ended up playing 3 years when he could have just played 2. toews we were lucky he came in early or he would have been a 1 and doner. lee stayed 2 and left being a high 1st rounder along with zajac and stafford stayed 3 years after being the #13 overall pick. it all depends on how the player is developing and how their respective nhl team sees them in their nhl/ahl system at that specific momemt in time.
  8. no doubt, im with ya lets have it the title game though if we play UM
  9. not sure yet. will have to wait as im sure they will say either way
  10. i will have to look into this a bit before picking a player. at first i wouldnt pick duncan but now looking at things he will be a guy considered, mcbain has been very impressive as well but uw and their recent decline wont help. lasch will get serious consideration with his numbers as well. throw walsky and roe in there and you have a group that one should win it. stoa has great wcha only numbers which will also put him in that group but his teams play in the last 2 months wont help him one bit usually this is a numbers award , here are the wcha stats for those interested wcha games stats
  11. we are to UM as BC is to UND
  12. fssn isnt fox sports, its fighting sioux sports network. it wont be on direct tv or dish . fssn is satellite only if it does get picked up
  13. i dont, greene went down at the end but got more punches in. nice even fight!!
  14. for sure and its a been a combo of things like you said but joe beaing back has been huge!
  15. its funny if a fan on ss has a problem with a player thats so wrong. i guess i just dont get what the big deal is. if it gets personal then thats a big problem to me and there isnt a place for that but to critisize a players play here and there big deal. we can all sit and pat every player and coach on the back whe they win win win and it should be no different when a player screws up or has a bad game or stretch. they should be called out at this level especially. im not even referring to finley at all as i thought he had a solid weekend but just in general. end of my rant go sioux, kick buckys azz a bit different topic - i know last weekend hak praise blood and jones big time. how has he looked to the fans that got to see the games in person. i really think he and fienhage will be big time d men for the sioux. fienhage ran into a numbers game with fins getting hurt and miller suprising everyone but from what ive heard it was tough at first as it would be on anyone in that spot but has really been a heck of a teammate. i look for big things from this tandom
  16. this is the final regular season weekend then we will do playoffs and no final 5 ill pick first since you will just go oppisite anyhow except of course you have the gophers sweeping which has caused you this contest FRIDAY North Dakota at Wisconsin Minnesota at Michigan Tech Minnesota State at St. Cloud State Alaska-Anchorage at Minnesota-Duluth SATURDAY Minnesota at Michigan Tech Alaska-Anchorage at Minnesota-Duluth St. Cloud State at Minnesota State Colorado College at Denver North Dakota at Wisconsin
  17. i dont think that matters. its a team game and when a player fks up others sometimes need to help out. sometimes they do and sometimes they dont. nobodys perfect and we all know that. not genoway or joe. this team especially has NO holes as scott owens said. i think joe has been damn good since coming back when there were indications he may not ever lace them up again for the sioux and maybe after that. genoway has his own style and big joe does. i like they way they play together. lets hope the team D keeps it up as they haven thad many hic ups since the new year. if they do and the boucnes go our way it could be a 5th straight trip to the f4
  18. sure was and it was a team effort as well to get beat that badly
  19. UND / UW GAMENOTES
  20. yeah it will be delivered to winning team for their 1st round playoff series. it will be all over friday when we wax bucky
  21. i guess it is better if its at home with the fans but would still be cool to have it in madison for the sioux fans that will be there when the sioux win per brad http://www.areavoices.com/undhockey/ MacNaughton Cup won't go to Madison The WCHA said today that it is not planning to bring the MacNaughton Cup to Madison for UND's series with the Badgers this weekend. UND could clinch at least a share of the Cup with one point and the Sioux will win it outright with two points. Usually, teams only celebrate at home with it, although there is no direct policy. If UND does win the Cup, it would likely be unveiled during the first-round playoff series, which is what the Sioux did in 2001. The Sioux were able to clinch the Cup at home in 2004.
  22. worked for me, just use this then scroll down http://www.twincities.com/sports
  23. dubay flunks out of diversion program, must get into another after cocaine charge
  24. my final what if http://siouxsports.com/hockey/whatif/ Team GP Pts UND 28 38 Denver 28 37 UW 28 31 UMD 28 31 CC 28 30 UMN 28 30 SCSU 28 29 Mankato 28 25 AA 28 19 MTech 28 10 my scenerio would put cc home vs gophers in first round as cc owns that tibreaker for seeding purposes - uw would win the tiebreaker vs umd to get that 3 seed. i have............ sioux splitting in uw du beating cc um getting 3 points in tech scsu and msu splitting umd sweeping uaa
  25. no, it all depends on where you end up in the pairwise rankings after all games have been played after conference tourneys usually how it goes 1-4 in pairwise get #1 seeds 5-8 in pairwise get #2 seeds 9-12 in pairwise get #3 seeds 13-14 get #4 seeds #15 and 16 usually are the 2 conference tourney winners from the 2 smaller conferences but sometimes not if those conferences has a couple solid pairwise ranking teams so...........if a team thats not in the top 14 in pairwise rankings lets say sneaks up in their respective conference tourney and wins it they get a automatic bid into the NCAA tourney so if that happens then the top 13 instead of 14 lets say for example would get into ncaa tourney and that team that was at #14 gets bumped out due to a suprise conference toruney winner as all conference tourney winners get automatic ncaa tourney bids. hope that helps and makes sense. but usually the conference tourney winners are teams that probably are already going to be in the tourney but you neevr know. thats why every conference tourney has automatic bids
