  1. Reports on local TV last night here in Minneapolis (Kare 11) saying Vanek is all but gone - Buffalo bound.

Gophers will be better off without him. Much like the days when he was in Sioux Falls, he was a cancer to the team. Sad to see when guys have all the talent in the world and they don't apply themselves and play when they want to play. He was the Gophers version of the Super Freak (Randy Moss).

  2. I think it is time to bring Siembeda back!!!!!

Of course, I am kidding. For what it is worth, I thought the goaltending was above average this year and in the playoffs. You win most games when you allow only one goal and get 30+ shots against your opponent. Had the Sioux managed to get a couple in against Denver this would not even be an issue.

  3. Thanks for letting me know that. How many D-1 champinonship banners have the piss-ons, I mean bison hung? I believe we have at least one or two more than that. Maybe seven to be precise. Does not sound like a D-2 school to me, you piss ant!

  4. PCM, that appears to be your word though. Thanks for quoting yourself again...real professional.

Wow, Basil you have out done yourself this time....wife cut you off or what?:D

  5. Somebody clue me in - is this a Bison Forum or a Sioux Forum? I would have thought that the elite Bison crowd would have found a D-1 board to talk their smack. I say let them go D-1 and play whoever the heck they want to play - I just really don't want to hear about it. It is very clear that the bisssson need to feel that their D-1 choice now puts them on the map. Bottom line is that there is only one D-1 school in North Dakota and that is all that really matters.

  6. Probably an inappropriate question but one that keeps going through my mind - Was Zach's decision in any way tied to the fact that he was unhappy with UND's program?

I just keep thinking back to the World Juniors where he said that Eaves was the best coach he ever played for. Interested in hearing peoples thoughts.

  7. Geez, you guys are far too sensible. :0 I guess I'm the only one who is outraged we couldn't score a goal in the biggest game of the year. Bounces, no-bounces, bad luck, no luck, played hard, whatever. It makes little difference to me.

Winning an NC is difficult, but when the Gophers make it look easy and will probably 3-peat, it tends to throw perspective out the window.

So are the gooofers going to 3-peat?

  8. Thanks!

My sincere apology. The Sioux played well on D, and Jordan was outstanding, just didn't get the bounces.

Thanks - for what it is worth I hope your team kicks the filthy rodents all over the ice. Of course you don't want me cheering for the dogs cause the teams I cheer for seem to lose...

  9. If you are going to name potential replacements up front, Canady is at the top of my list. (Actually Stafford is my top choice, but that goes without saying.)

I am going to miss seeing David Lundbohm's crafty little puckhandling moves after this year. With all the talent on this team, no one handles the puck in tight spaces like he does.

Amen Brother! He has some crazy hockey skills!

  10. fact - gophers have a deal

fact - BU has a deal

fact - Vermont has a deal

fact - Notre Dame has a deal

fact - UND has a pay-per-view internet scheme

Fact - you are a jerk. You are absolutely all wet on this issue.

  11. Because schools can initiate negotiations for TV contracts PCM. Not everyone is out to get the Sioux, UND should get a little more proactive in gaining more coverage and recognition for its' great teams rather than sitting back and reacting to whatever coverage is availiable in other locations.

ps - and i don't mean charging money for a poor quality internet video stream

I live in SOuth Dakota and get all the home hockey games. Considering hockey is not that big in South Dakota, I feel very fortunate that FSSN was created and a very proactive move by UND and REA. What more do you want?:glare: It is really not UND's fault that the FSN moves the Goph's to the night game. You are barking up the wrong tree on this on Basil.

  12. I have always loved the Sioux but I have to say there seems to be something very special about this team - perhaps it's number 11 making plays all over the ice, or # 2 making the big hit at the right time, or # 14 flying down the ice, or the 4th line dominating ... it goes on and on but the bottom line is that these boys seem hungry and have the team to go all the way if the play their game. I love this time of year...
