Because people are building it up to something it isn't. When they played on a regular basis you could get that ticket any day of the week, now people see it as a way to make a quick buck. Just because it is a high ticket doesn't make it a rivalry, it just makes it a premier game.

That may be how you see it. You are the minority without a doubt.

Yes, it is pretty much the same. UND has moved on and so has the Gophers. They are now just another non-conference opponent that we need to beat to keep our ranking in the pairwise. This was proven pretty much last year down here at the 3M arena at Marriucci.

The same people who say this is a huge rivalry are the same ones who wont move on from the Sioux nickname..

Not a rivalry? Why are the tickets for this weekend worth 5x as much as most conference play? If it's not a rivalry you should tell the people that are paying 150 a seat

Ok, so we get by BU on Friday and end up playing the UMD diving team on Saturday...Sioux are up 4-1 with one minute to go and we are coming down on a 2-1 with Cole Smith and Trevor Olson...Do we A) Try to score, B) Play the puck into the corner and hold it against the boards to burn up the clock, or C) Have both players launch themselves like a missile into the Duluth goalie at the same time in order to take him out of the game.  I vote for option C, what do you guys think? :)

C all the way, I mean what do we have to lose? Its not like smith or olson will get ejected from the following game even if it is an obvious attempt to run the goalie.

I haven't re-watched the game, but was Poganski even in the crease?

From what I saw, he didn't go in the blue and Miska bumped him. But I might have missed something earlier.

It didn't look like much contact. Looked to me that pogo bumped miskas glove and miska dropped like he was slough footed

Wasn't this the 2009-2010 team? I originally thought 2010-2011(I'm assuming you did too) but realized they never touched the McNaughton or The Broadmoor trophy.

On a side note, I believe Hakstol regrets that decision because he mentioned he wishes he would've let them enjoy the ride a little more.

I actually did think it was the 10-11 team. That year is a year that haunts me till this day. Fun to watch, just not the result I expected. They were loaded with talent that year.

You must have been standing outside on an extended smoke-break - during the 27 minutes of the game where the Fighting Hawks recorded ZERO shots on goal!  :glare:

It was a close game. Shots at the end were about equal. Quality of shots were about equal imo. Yeah they outplayed UND for a portion of the game but in the end shot totals were similar
