At least I don’t need to care about football for a few years

the end of the game last night was pathetic. a continuation of the NDSU game where they couldn't adjust to the simple actions NDSU was running and also couldn't get the ball to their best players on offense. I'd be optimistic for next year but obviously they're going to lose Omot to the portal and then they'll be back to square one. i wish they'd stop cheaping out and just go hire boschee or mccollum

If we were an actual hockey school there’d be a new coaching staff next year

We didn't have a coach 21 years ago?
Do we have one now

And a few minutes after I wrote this they did turn it over....
"Alright. You caught us. Here you go. You can have it. Please don't dig any deeper now."
It almost looks worse that they’re doing it now

Time to start talking about who the next coach should be

They need to make some coaching changes this off-season I’m afraid

2 consecutive Freshman of the Year …. and Sather can’t recruit?
were they freshmen of the year because they were good or because we had no one else to shoot the ball

The second year of me bringing up maybe it’s just the coach? He’s had one successful year with someone else’s recruits. Even that year we were sixth.
they need to find the money for mccollum

McCollum (NWMU) is out of our price range. Boschee is out there too. Having said that, I truly think this is terrible luck for Sather. If anyone else important leaves, we need to evaluate even further.
i had heard mccollum was very interested last time around. i know boschee was.

this partially just makes me sad we didn't go with nodaks for the name change

I tuned out after the game on Saturday and haven't read anything until today. This team has too many unforgiveable mistakes taking place, and they all have to do with coaching. To me, the biggest one on Saturday was coming out of halftime and having to take a timeout before running your first play. I don't know how that happens. It shouldn't, period. Did any of the media ask Bubba about this? Unfortunately this coaching staff have a habit of questionable calls, use of time outs, undisciplined penalties. It is what it is and I don't expect it to change under the current leadership.
some of the game management stuff is inexcusable.

next year is going to be rough

If you are good enough to skip college to play professionally then there will be a team that wants you. This isn't hard to understand guys...
Brandon Jennings was the 10th pick in the draft and didnt play a ton in Europe. A lot of leagues will take veteran guys who have played in europe for years already because they know the leagues//teams/coaches, etc. and because they dont develop guys like the NBA does, so maybe it is hard to understand for some people

If you are good enough to be above going to college to play, then Europe is 10000% viable lmao what are you talking about? Is European basketball suddenly super exclusive?
Every sport has established some sort of minor league or second tier version of itself at some point and guess what.... nobody watches it.
a lot of european basketball leagues have a rule limiting the number of americans they can have on the roster so yes it's pretty exclusive

i think danielson will eventually be good enough to play at this level (and he's shown some flashes already). i just wish he were the 9th man or so rather than the 5th best player on the team

Good kid, works hard but didn't add much. He is being given the chance to contribute as Panoam wasn't playing well.
I’m kinda surprised he isn’t playing more. I watched some of him over the summer and was impressed.

You mean because he is listed last?
I'm not saying you're wrong, but there is no way an online service would be able to accurately rank recruits at a certain position. ONLY coaches would be privy to where they have each player ranked on their board.
I’m not trying to be message board guy here but I went to KU and know people associated with the program, etc.

So you know for a fact that Easton Stick’s offer at Rutgers and Seth Anderson’s offer at Kansas were non-committable? Or are you just speculating?
No idea about Stick but I have a pretty good idea of where Anderson ranked on the list of KU targets

I would get two books for each member of the football staff and make them read both between now and January 1.
How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by Scott Adams. Specifically read Chapter 8 "Systems Trump Goals": I'm pretty sure NDSU has a system that gets them to their goals and they focus on their system.
Loserthink by Scott Adams. The book is a tutorial on how to avoid mental prisons and escape the cycle of loserthink.
We’ll probably win 0 games per year relying on Scott Adams
