  1. That's their fault for using it for the convenience instead of digging a little deeper. I use it for Brad/Sioux hockey and humor, which is unfortunately mostly political these days. And it's mostly dunking on stupid takes rather than finding humor in everyday events.
  2. They were late to the game in terms of censoring their platforms. Glad to see them finally doing it; Reddit figured it out a while ago. Protecting free speech was more important when foreign adversaries didn't have direct access to our brains. Too much disinformation is causing both TDS and QAnon. Censorship a slippery slope, but it was inevitable. They should have done it sooner on a less impactful story; now the story they chose is muddying the action. Also, Twitter did it first, then Facebook copied in order to stave off the employees ready to revolt.
  3. The stench will stick with them for the rest of their careers. He hasn't lost yet, but they've hedged their bets as if it's saving any face.
  4. It's hosted by Lindenwood at the new Blues practice facility right next to the airport and a casino. Hopefully it does well.
  5. I think I saw it confirmed in an article about college sports sites being chosen. Michaud set a decent bar for grad transfers, but it might not last. Playing at the Ralph for one last chance at a championship would be enticing.
  6. Capitalism has made it this way....old fashioned fascism will TAKE IT AWAYYYYYYY
  7. With it back in the news, did anyone else read Hillbilly Elegy? I agreed with some of it, but the "payday lenders are good, actually" was absurd.
  8. There could be some super seniors/grad transfers over the next few years with the announcement that any student athlete competing this year gets an additional year of eligibility.
  9. It has NHL capacity, but we're stuck with a major junior team going through a native American mascot change and a sale due to owner bankruptcy at a bad time.
  10. https://brrr.money/ The epic-est of all memes. The one to rule them all
  11. Bailed out by the stimulus bill, of course. Most major insurance carriers are publicly traded, and many others are privately held by financial firms. Portland's NBA arena is sponsored by an insurance company that recently sued the government for stiffing them on a reimbursement and won.
  12. If anything the riots give them a chance to cash out from insurance money rather than slow suffocation by the shut down. The latter is a much bigger concern for small businesses, and nationwide.
  13. Portland's problem is wages are way behind cost of living, meaning career-wise most people make some sort of sacrifice to be here. Lots of frustrated people that tell others back home they are "living the dream". I could get twice as much home in Minneapolis with wages being similar, possibly better in MSP. Edit: I didn't really answer the liberal slide. My belief is the more people you have in an area, the more organization you need. Keep an honest check on government overreach, but I also love riding a train to work. Hopefully that doesn't make me a *gasp* socialist!
  14. I feel for the folks grinding it out in the food carts that lost their clientele to the pandemic, believe me. Hopefully rent contracts were renegotiated.
  15. Get used to it. It's not like this hasn't happened in our lifetimes. Did you feel that way when Koreatown got destroyed in the 90s? Race riots were a staple of the Midwest in my parents' childhood. But hey, my 401k is up!
  16. Eugene would be a great place to get an education if outdoor recreation is of interest.
  17. If you live in Boise, Colorado Springs, Tuscon, I'll give you that you live somewhere better. Maybe a few others, none of which are likely to include wherever you're at. Portland's best years are behind it, having "arrived" as a destination. But the only people affected by the protests/riots are literally ivory tower liberals living in high rises in the Pearl or South waterfront.
  18. Even though the mods shot down your "theory", you still believe it to be true, no matter how preposterous it sounds. A good reminder of how there are so many of your fellow QAnon freakshows.
  19. Glad to have you aboard, although the taxing to recoup previous enforcement costs is stupid and will not happen. First off, there is no God. Second, a brief psychoanalysis of our posts would show between the two of us, one is high risk for abusing women. Hint: I am not the high risk. For you to go from using degrading language about a woman to accusing others of "oppression" would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.
  20. If he's married, I pity the poor woman.
  21. As has happened probably a dozen times now, you refuse to answer a question from me. If you want to hammer Kamala (not sexually of course, you wouldnt know what to do) on her marijuana convictions, and are supportive of legalization, criticize away. Otherwise, you're just a lonely incel projecting your frustrations with an entire gender upon her in your psychotic rants.
  22. Unless you are unequivocally in full support of the federal legalization of marijuana, as well as expunging all records relating to it, you are the one lacking in footing. I sure as hell want to see that, so I have the right to criticize her record. Do you?
  23. Sorry, but you've disqualified yourself from opining on her. Got nobody to blame but yourself. Where you go one you go all
  24. So you're saying that she would be the "law and order" candidate?
  25. Didnt realize I was on the clock. Some people have actual things to do with their lives.
