I’m guessing he starts out 3rd pair for a while and will get elevated once he’s figured out how fast and heavy NCAA and NCHC can be. If he were a 17-year old forward that would be a different animal because he could into top 6 very quickly. But being a young defenseman in the NCHC is rough and even though he’s got the size for it he will need some adjustment time.
Agree. See Emery for example

I haven't heard either. It's pretty hush when it comes to the NHL.
Hak is too big an asset to hockey to be on the sidelines. Some team needs to see the light.

Ever since Carle pulled his name out of the running for the Blackhawks HC position, I have seen/heard Hakstol's name come up.
Sounds like Blackhawks went a different direction than Hak.

Is there any information out there about if Hak will get a job somewhere? A lot of openings but I haven't seen him mentioned as a possibility. Maybe I missed something

I cannot imagine the hurdles the Bryn and the staff have to deal with
Most hockey kids have been hauled off to practice and games by their parents for many years and it's important for parents to be able to see their games often. I know the guys go off to play away from home and have billet arrangements also, but the regional factor is real IMO. Just my 2 cents as hockey dad and grandpa.

He played behind two pretty average or worse teams.

Was thinking the same thing that Komzak is leaving because the coaches told him another D was coming in. He could have left immediately when the portal opened 2+ weeks ago, but elected to wait until now.
Agree. I think Tanner will be a good find for whoever gets him.

His dad was really nice when I met him, said a lot of good things about the fan base.
Good luck to Tanner.

And every player reminds him of some long ago player (sometimes even an obscure name that none of us recognizes). I don't see all the positive feelings about Starman that many of you do. He is much better than no coverage at all.

Hasn't put up great numbers at SSM. Did have a good Select 16 festival though.
The Hale brothers were from Colorado Springs but played in GF, so I think there are some family ties to the Springs.

Does Denver and many other teams have a hockey reporter
foro the Denver newspaper and try find an article about a game, same with Arizona
Denver Post does not cover the Pioneers or the NCHC until post season. I have complained to the hockey writer and he says talk to his editor. The coverage is very sketchy.

Gonna be a shame if WMU loses this game. They are the better team.

Cam Berg was a portal pick-up as well. I would say a lot of the portal players that UND has historically picked up also have that "bleed green" attribute. Not every single portal pick-up is going to work out. But it's part of the process now.
Nick Jones is another one that had the unselfish characteristic we need.
Hunter Johannes as well.
Semptimphalter as well

Agreed, but he ought to be welcoming also to 1st rounders who will only be at UND 1-2 years.
Those guys cost money in the "modern" world.

I agree , I think he looked much more comfortable in the Q and A part. I was just surprised he wasn't more polished as I haven't seen him speak much
He is even uncomfortable in the 1 minute standard intermission interview between periods.

Thought it was interesting that he mentioned Berry as one of the coaches he thanked, but when he was talking about coaches and culture, Berry wasn't mentioned with the other coaches that time around. Very telling.
I must have missed his Berry reference.

Noticed that Chaves is very much an "at the end of the day" sort of guy.
low brow of Jax not to mention Berry.
