Byfuglien didn't really impress me with what he did to Caggiula. Rattling around a guy who's 8 inches shorter and 85 pounds lighter is pretty weak.

Want to send a message to the Blackhawks? Go bang on Dahlstrom or Murphy or Anisimov, but not the second smallest guy on the roster.

Big Buff on a diet plan? Or is The Drake up to 230?

  2. Jeff Jackson used to coach the USA National Development Team.

Buccigross makes this Notre Dame v. Clarkson game nearly unwatchable. Melrose makes it worse.

Their after the period wrestler guy is also brutal.

And the #1 team can’t get on tv? Thanks ESPN.

Other than that, happy it’s Friday.

  3. What is Michaud‘s interest he plans to pursue at the graduate level? Would have to be a factor with some that take advantage of this rule as some kids do understand the academic importance. Not that it is necessarily a factor in this case.

  4. What will this “exposure” do for NDSU? Donors? More students? “Better” students?  Basketball recruits? Validate their football success? How does that translate to $$?

Don't get me wrong, wish it was UND. But everyone keeps talking about this exposure. NDSU is still at the end of the day a small school in Fargo, ND.

The last time UND missed the playoffs more than 2 years in a row was back in the Gino days.  1995-96 was 6th year in a row UND failed to make the playoffs.  After that year, Gino "resigned".  I don't think Chaves is going to let UND miss the NCAA Tournament 6 years in a row before he pulls the trigger.  I'd say he has 2 years to get things back on track.  But if UND misses the NCAA's next year for a third straight year, I think the pressure from the fanbase, alumni, etc would be to great for Berry not to be fired.

Side not, pretty crazy stat that the last time the UND hockey team missed the playoffs 2 years in a row was 23 years ago!!  The bare minimum for this program is to make the NCAA'ss.  Anything less than that is an utter failure given the reputation of this program.

Another aside... this season marks just the second time since 1978 that both UND and the U of M failed to make the NCAA tourney. 2017-18 was the first time this happened since 1978.

Yes, Robson was only able to play 1 and a half seasons because he played in the OHL and transferred.

This is from the official Gopher Sports story on his signing: “Gopher Hockey junior goaltender Mat Robson has signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild, the organization announced on Monday, as Robson foregoes his final year of eligibility with the University of Minnesota.” https://gophersports.com/news/2019/3/18/mens-ice-hockey-robson-inks-deal-with-minnesota-wild.aspx

The Star Trib also is looking at this as if it’s an early departure. http://www.startribune.com/mat-robson-leaves-gophers-for-wild/507311952/

great insight, I would humbly add that the success of youngster in the NHL may lead to more talent going that way..   I hardly got to see Duncan as I was in the no coverage / no time double blanket in western ND.  But he became a favorite in short order, including my son wanting to be #16 still to this day...   Got to wonder if Gaudreau & Duncan swapped time frames would Ryan be on the cover of Hockey News?   in the same thought if Toews was 17 today, would UND be on his radar, especially for 2 years?

I also had a son that graduates this year and wore 16 for 8 of the last 10 years for the same reasons.
