Student tickets went on sale yesterday. My sister and her husband got some around 8:00 yesterday morning.
Call the REA at 701/777.4167 or 877.91.SIOUX

Thanks, Pat. I guess I should have read the paper earlier today...
Simply coming back and playing should be a good sign. If he had any broken bones, it doesn't seem that would have been possible. Best to get injuries out of the way early in the year.
Not sure about last night, but a situation like that would have resulted in a scrap not too long ago. Anyone remember that game against the Russian nat'l team (?)? Ben Jacobsen could throw 'em.

It looks like the Sioux will be short-handed against SW St, and maybe awhile beyond. Myron Allen was hammered going up for a dunk and came down very awkwardly. He suffered several injuries (hip, back, wrist), the severity of which are unknown at this time. Unfortunately, having a 38 inch vertical can be dangerous as he had a long way to fall once he was fouled.
Was this in practice ?
Maybe now Porter will get out of bed on time and take his role with the team a little more seriously.

Mantanko??? hee hee

Apparently Pat Sweeney reads USCHO as well, cause 'DAZ just did a feature on Ranfranz that used the USCHO article as a reference. Good story. I'm sure it should be available online at In-Forum . Click on the link for the 10pm newscast of WDAZ.

He was recalled to the Rangers on November 4th, but was sent down again on the 7th after appearing in two games. Currently leads the Hartford Wolfpack in scoring.

I was sick of seeing all these other threads at the top of the page. We're playing WISCONSIN this weekend. Where is all the passion for Sioux hockey? Where is all of the hatred of the Badgers? Come on people. Who cares about the Brooks/Foss fiasco anyway? That should be more of an issue in MSP where they are scrambling as to why one of "their own" would turn on them.
My heart says (like every week) the Sioux will sweep. With the ZP line getting slowed down the past couple weeks, this should be a break out series for them. Quinn has been getting so many chances that he has to cash them in at some point. The Sioux also have been able to put 4 solid lines on the ice, so concentrating on the ZP line is not necessarily the way to beat this Sioux team.
Goalies looked 'better' last weekend. Still not too confident in either of them. Siembida had his eyes checked last week, with everything checking out fine. Maybe they need to see a psychologist or something, though nothing does more for the confidence than WINS.
Defense looks good. What a weekend it would be for one of them to go Commie on a Wisco player, especially with Archie in town. Should be tremendous. Only 52 hours until the puck drops.
Go Sioux!

So then chuck archambault played for bismarck high school ..... correct?
They both did. Russ played for BHS as a sophomore, then went to some school in the Cities his junior year, and back to BHS for his senior year. He was noticed by the Gophers while attending hs in the Cities. (Someone must remember what school he attended. I believe they won a state title.) He must be 26 or 27 years old now. I don't think that the brothers played together in high school.

Here is a good article in the fargo forum
http://www.in-forum.com/columnists/article...ist=terrydevine
Both the Herald and Forum editorial boards address the issue as well. The Herald sure had to choke down the words, but nevertheless were quite critical of the NDSU student senate.

Below is a national story on Chuck Archambault, originally from Bismarck/Fort Yates and formerly with the Minnesota Gophers, and events during a basketball game in Nashville.
<snip>
Incidentally, Chuck Archambault is planning to play somewhere in the Dakota

Not to pat myself on the back too much (which means I'm about to), I must admit that I called it on Saturday night.
Not bad for a knucklehead.

Can't wait to get to GF to see some real a## whooping this weekend.
One of our few trips every year that we really look forward to. Unfortunately it will be almost our last.
So are you sticking around for all 14 games ??

What a tool.

Its the first of many such situations.
Fargo has a bunch of twins coming up through the ranks that play the same position in basketball? And one of them wants to major in pharmacy? And they BOTH want scholarships to the same school?
Maybe Coach Roebuck better change his recruiting philosophy and petition the NDSBHE to add a Pharmacy program to UND.

I didn't hear any racial slurs, just a "Get a haircut" chant directed at #55, who had a rather large ponytail sticking out of the back of his helmet. I guess there was a "2's a fa**ot" chant, but that was only during warmups, and that is not racial.<snip> I'm sure the supposed yelling of racial slurs caused the Mavs to lose this game. He is just looking for a scapegoat to divert attention away from yet another loss.
I don't know if it's just me or what, but I read the Forum's account of the accusations at least 3 times and the Herald account of the story 4 times and I don't see anywhere where the Mankato State coach ties these incidents to a loss of a game.
And since you didn't hear anything, the coach must be lying or looking for a scapegoat.

NDSU Homecoming: 8541
UND Homecoming: 11300+
"more than enough fans left in the Prestigious Tailgate areas to fill the Fabulous Fargo Dome."
Sicatoka, I imagine you'll get some sort of reply that includes something like this.
Yeah, and it's not UND fans that push the attendance up at the Sioux/Bison games. OK.

Sioux soccer ladies defeat the mighty Bison
Wonder if soccer will be one of the sports that gets axed at NDSU once the bill comes due for the 63 football scholarships and Coach Babich's "DI salary".

John,
It's too bad for Kelby that all he has to look back on over his career is losing out on the godawful Golden Arm award, oh, and the little ring on his finger.
The only thing Graiggy has is a 'g' where there should have been a 'c'. He'll neverovercome that. He'll go down as the least productive QB in the history of Bizon football.
Onward to Division I (AA) for the Bizon! "Bring on Purdue and Indiana!"

Anyone who claims to know what Parise will do in the future after just two games is blowing smoke.
That same poster is also the one that said Parise made a hasty decision to attend UND. Nothing but sour grapes. This poster didn't have Michigan as a #3 team, either, so what Parise did this weekend was a fluke. Keep believing that and it may come true.
It's pretty funny that there are so many experts out there that have all this 'insight' on what Parise is going to do after just two games. All of this warning from fans of other teams gives an indication that maybe the Sioux are going to be a little better this year and they are worried about that. Sounds good to me.

And the other one had, ummm, Gorder
Yep, he's the guy with the "golden arm", ya know.
-
O.K., it was hardly a work of art, but I'll take an "ugly" win over a pretty loss any day. I can't say I was too surprised with the lack of offense. Traditionally, UND play-calling is notoriously conservative in big games, and you had the added dimension of an inexperienced quarterback, not to mention a freshman running back. Penalties really hurt, too.
I think it goes to show the pressure that the coaching staff's of both programs are under to win THIS game. Neither team called too many plays where anything bad was even a possibility. The game plan was to stay conservative and make the other side fail. I listened to WDAY's call-in shows last week and the vast majority of the callers were critical of the Bison, but would forgive "as long as they beat the Sioux". That's what a rivalry is all about, eh?
Glad to see the good guys pick up this one. Go Sioux!

Wild: Roche makes his mark on, off the ice
Not a lot of insight about whether he'll make the roster or not, but another good story about his being the AHL Man of the Year.
Something interesting from the story is that Lemaire says Travis needs to step up his offensive game. Says he is ready defensively.

As far as hlastrom goes, he should be a little more worried about the Harlon Hill favorite Kelby Klosterman, not the 2 time Golden Arm Winner Craig Gorder.
Why would Hallstrom (how hard is that to spell) worry about Klosterman? He's part of the lovefest at Forum Communications that is nothing less than an NDSU fluffer, isn't he?
Don't you have some other board to troll on?
exaggeration?
