  1. Jason, I'm bumming. Just bought a new Panasonic Smart TV mainly to be able to watch Sioux sporting events on the TV web browser, only to find out that the TV won't play the video because it's in flash. I talked to Neulion (they weren't very nice) and they said basically too bad, so sad. Any chance that you guys could "encourage" Neulion to either get an app for smart TVs or offer a format other than flash. I think there are probably a few other people besides me who are in the same boat. If they don't change the format from flash it won't be able to be run on most android devices either. I know that my Samsung tablets don't support flash.
  2. If these guys play as well as they did tonight next weekend & the guys that are out tonight contribute like they should it could be really ugly for Anchorage at the Ralph next weekend.
  3. I hope the coaches they work with until they get here put some emphasis on skating. There's nothing more frustrating than having a huge dude on the ice that gets consistently skated around like he's a big orange (or green) road pylon.
  4. It may be nothering major to you to deny people the right to vote on an issue, but it is major to a lot of people who want the opportunity to vote on those issues, and I can guarantee you it’s very major and a big deal to the people who are sponsoring these measures. If the civil liberty issues don’t rise to your level of importance maybe the money aspect of this can. It’s not just the $145,000 that was paid to the company to get the signatures, it’s also the many hours of work that goes into drafting these measures – this includes salaries for the people working for the organization, research into how the measure can be implemented, legal fees for writing and re-writing the measures, fundraising (yes fundraising costs money) to hire the petition collectors, advertising, lawyers etc. and I’m just scratching the surface of what goes into getting a measure on the ballot and then getting it passed. Let’s also not forget the jobs that will NOT be because these measures won’t have an opportunity to pass and create them. As mad as I am at the lazy dipsh#*&$^%s that broke the law, I am livid with Bresciani, Taylor and Bohl for their cavalier attitude towards this crime. These are University officials being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars that are responsible for educating our young people not only towards a job or career, but towards life and their responsibility towards their community and they are basically telling everyone that it’s OK to disregard our laws and screw other people if we don’t feel like doing a job we are hired to do - no big deal.
  5. I'm really not liking the idea of a BTHC and what it could mean for the rest of college hockey. I understand the feeling of needing to "run with the big dogs" and ditching the traditional wcha, but it's really kind of bothering me. At one point (not long ago) we were a lowly DII school and it really hasn't been that long since we weren't playing in the 11,700 seat REA aka The Palace On The Prairie. The WCHA is traditionally strong and other than Tech or Anchorage, every team has their time in the top half of the league and currently UMTC has been sitting in the bottom half. The WCHA almost always has at least 4 teams in the national tournament, often 5 and sometimes even six - this equates to having 1/2 the league in the national tournament most years. Since UMTC hasn't made the tourney in the last two years and not counting Wisco, UND & DU there have been at least 2 "lowly" DII schools in the national tourney out of our conference. Then there's Bemidji, the little DIII school that has kicked around some of the big boys, big time in the last couple of years. Our entire league is very competative - even Tech and Alaska will give the top boys a run - seems to me Alaska beat us last year and I never feel safe with Tech. We can go off and create our own league with Notre Dame, Miami, DU and CC but what happens to the rest of the WCHA - part of what made our league so good is that the smaller schools upped their game to get recruits. Can the smallers schools keep hockey without the "names"? They bring in a lot of money playing UND, UMTC, WISCO & DU - what happens to them when that revenue stream dries up. It was just last year that Bemidji was on the brink and if they didn't get into the WCHA they were going to have to drop hockey. UND will be just fine - we have enough tratition, history, recruiting success (and money) that if we choose to go to a new league we'll be OK - what about the smaller schools (and not just WCHA - CCHA as well without Mich or MSU) ? ~end rant~
  6. Right before the St. Clown series I made plans for the weekend of the 1st round of playoffs (I ended up canceling them) telling the person it was going to be next to impossible to get home ice so I could just listen on the radio. After they made it to the final 5 I said, "no way can they get through Denver". Here are my predictions for the coming games: 1. No way can we beat Yale - they're too tired, too many games in too short a time & Yale has had 2 weeks off. 2. BC is going to run circles around us - we've got a huge "head case" when it comes to BC (this is assuming BC beats Alaska - I'll revise statment for Alaska if needed) 3. I just don't see us beating Miami (assuming they get out of their regional - I'll revise if needed). They are pissed off how they did in their regional and are out to prove something. 4. Beating DU/Wisco (again will revise if needed) will be next to impossible - again with the too tired & DU or Wisco have something to prove after final 5. Here's to these predictions being as acurate as my predictions for the first 2 rounds.
  7. I was so beyond proud of the boys last night. From about halfway through the 2nd to the end of the game they looked like they could hardly stand up, but they wouldn't GIVE up. I kept thinking the phrase that must have been running through their heads was "I'm so tired I think I'm going to die, but I WANT IT MORE THAN YOU DO!!!!"
  8. How is it we got Yale & not Michigan?
  9. Hey guys - is there a good "game tracker" to stay updated on scores from out east?
  10. I am so tired of seeing BC in the tourney. If we have to run across them again this year lets just put them to bed and move on to someone else. It's like going to prom every year with the dude you broke up with last week - really don't wanna dance with him but everybody else already had a date.
  11. So, is there a way we can move up into the top 4 of the pairwise?
  12. Ticket circus happening at my house bout who's taking the tickets tonight - I would like to opt out of the circus so I am looking for 1 ticket for tonight's Mich Tech game.
  13. I've never heard of a college coach getting fired for a losing season - especially not this early in the season, but the fans in gooferville must be seeing RED right now (I know we would be up here).
  14. Stafford just tied the game with 16 sec left in game.
  15. Anybody know the score of the Goof game? Last I heard it was 2-0
