T.J. Oshie carries his Ojibwe Indian heritage with him every time he dons a UND Fighting Sioux jersey.

Excerpt from feature by Dennis Dodd:

"North Dakota center T.J. Oshie is proud of his Native American heritage. Coursing through his veins is a significant amount of Ojibwa Chippewa blood.

Oshie is equally proud of his team. Seven national championships, in addition to its third consecutive Frozen Four this week in St. Louis, make North Dakota the UCLA (OK, maybe Florida) of college hockey.

It is the reason the Ojibwa became a Fighting Sioux."
