SiouxHockey4Life
Did anyone out there in "siouxsportsland" record last night's game? I would like to make this game immortal in my personal collection. I'm interested in a VHS or if possible DVD version. I will gladly take care of any shipping that's required. Greatly appreciated......in advance.

SiouxTupa
I also have the game from last night, now on my computer here. Don't know what I'll do with it yet. I've encoded a few of the goals to DV-AVI to keep in my hockey-fix collection along w/ Spirko's goal from last year.
dakidfightingsioux
Do you have the video in AVI format of Duncan breaking Goepfert's ankles on the play where he faked the slap shot and skated around him for the goal? That is one of my favorite goals I have ever seen! Goepfert couldn't move after that fake!!
SiouxTupa
I do have that one. The problem is that the AVI files are way big...like 200mb. I'm going to try and make them smaller soon, then maybe I can get BGA to serve them.
termie
AVI is a non-compressed format. You should try a MPEG format or for space concerns I haven't found anything to beat an WMV. If your computer is running XP you can get Windows Movie Maker 2 for free from the Microsoft website. Open up the files in that and save them in WMV. (That's one of the ways to do it). MM2 allows you to save it in several sizes too. 640X480 or 320X240 would be of preference. 640x480 is a standard TV resolution.

I have only had my DVR for a couple months and I had no idea getting things off there was possible

termie
My computer has a video capture board. I record games on the Tivo for ease of recording. Then if I wish to keep the game I play it and capture it again onto the computer hard disk. From there it's a hop, skip and jump to the DVD. I've heard TIVO has a deal to move files directly to the computer (via USB?). I guess that takes an add-on expense and it's not that slick? Not that I"m afraid to do it better. SiouxTupa
I have the "smart people's TiVo"...haha just kidding But I really do have a ReplayTV, it's like a tivo, but a little more basic and without a music server. One REALLY cool thing about it is that it has a 1 button commercial skip. An excellent feature for your recorded shows. A programmer created a java computer server program to connect to the ReplayTV and download/stream shows. It works really well, but there are drawbacks. I wish they would update that program's functionality as well, as it's been 2 years at least. The program works, though, and I use it for sports and tv shows. It's fun! PLUS, I patched the 40 gig hard drive in mine with a 160 gig I got for $40 at BBY. Now I have 160 hours on my DVR and a spare 40 gig drive for storage
