I see where the current Stanford AD is leaving after 14 years. I wonder if Purpur will be top candidate. Curious if he knew the current guy was looking and was that maybe a reason he pulled out of the UND opening?

Besides, why come to UND and get caught up in the Sioux name controversy when you can stay at Stanford with your perfectly safe, but somewhat bizarre, tree mascot?

That thing is HIDEOUS!! I never did understand why they couldn't come up with a better mascot than that. Don't they have an art department or a sewing class that could have done better than this 3rd grade art project? If UND ever switched to the Big Green and had that thing dancing around the Alerus at football games, I might have to consider becoming a fan of the Ag college.

That's not hideous... that's hostile and abusive to ecologists and arborists everywhere. I think they should dump the mascot.
