UND's Brandt breaks collarbone

UND senior goalie Jake Brandt could be sidelined for four to six weeks after breaking his collarbone while ice fishing this week.

Brandt, from Roseau, Minn., landed on his shoulder when the snowmobile he was riding tipped over as he was leaving the fishing area. He broke his collarbone in the process, said his father, Allen.

Brandt, who has played in 59 games in his career and has a 32-12-4 won-lost record, has started just one game this year. Sophomore Jordan Parise and freshman Phil Lamoureux have drawn most of the playing time.

In Brandt's lone start this season, he was the winning goalie Oct. 9 in a 3-1 win at Maine. His only other appearances were a relief role in a 6-0 loss to Minnesota and in Sunday's exhibition against the USA World Junior team.
