Fighting Sioux #1
We've got a group going to Duluth for our annual "Beat-up on the Bulldog's" Weekend. Tickets are in hand, but we're looking for rooms. Has anyone ever stayed at the Hawthorn Suites?? They are located in the old building right across the way from the DECC. (Same building as the Timber Lodge Steakhouse.) Sounds nice on the internet. Let me know...
FIRE HELMET GUY #26
I have not stayed there personally but I have been to a few of the rooms and they are VERY nice! Kitchenettes in every room with dishwashers and full-size fridges that can store TONS of beer! Most of the rooms have two seperate bedrooms as well. I would definetly stay there if I were you, well worth the price! The Comfort Suites are also very nice too, just a quick drunken crawl from the Sports Garden. Let me know... I've stayed at the Hawthorn and they are very nice. Especially if you like to use the kitchen, etc. One thing, the poolside rooms can be noisy, and hot if they are next to the sauna. Still very easy to walk from there to the DECC.
Sioux Fan
I to have got a group coming up from the Cities. A couple Bulldog fans in the bunch though. How much is the Hawthorne charging for a room? What about the Comfort Suites? Anyone know the rate off-hand on those?

01grad
Making the trip as well, but don't want to pay for a suite. Just wondering if anybody knew the situation on vacancies at hotels nearby the DECC (canal park) that are more in my price range? ($100-$150) Anybody find a good deal yet that I might be able to check if more rooms are available? I have stayed at the Holiday Inn before, but it is kind of a long walk especially if it will be cold. What is the name of the hotel that you can walk to through the skyway? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

01grad
Thanks for the help y'all! Radisson is full and Canal Inn sounded too cheap, so I went with Holiday Inn. Only 30 rooms left.
Diggler
Sweet! I'm gonna come to your room and crash since I'm staying at the Holiday Inn too. Just don't fall down the steps at tDECC, they are steep.
