JESUS,family, rutgers Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 Hope you guys can help me out. I am not much of a computer person at all---the one I use is not mine. My idea of high technology is a toaster.-----What exactly is the new RSS feature? I'm guessing that these are newspaper articles that go directly to my email address. Is that what the new feature is? If that is it, are you going to keep putting articles on this website? Thanks for your assistance. Quote
jimdahl Posted October 9, 2004 Posted October 9, 2004 I explain it somewhat here. As it said, it's just a machine-readable format of the news listings. If there were 20 news sites that you looked at frequently, you could use an RSS-reader to pull the headlines from all of those sites into a single interface. It draws from the same database as the human readable football and hockey pages, so both will be always be simultaneously updated whenever a new article is added. In short, yes, all articles will continue to be available from the website also. Quote

The Firefox browser supports putting links to the news articles in your bookmark toolbar (favorties toolbar in IE, although it's not supported in the Microsoft product). The firefox browser is an open source effort that is a large step up from IE, imo. Tabbed browsing is great, and the addition of RSS support in the new preview release is nice also; firefox reportedly does not have all the security holes that IE has. I have the siouxsports news in the bookmarks toolbar (called live bookmarks by mozilla), as well as in my myyahoo page. Quote
