jloos Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 How about using this thread for continued talk about non Sioux related elite league games. Halstenson is off the Great Plains roster. If there are any injuries I think Christian should be considered to fill in. He didn't play HS last year, but his talent is at or above most of the players on the roster. Weisgarber would also be a good addition. Too bad Cory Johnson and Brett Barta from Moorhead are both playing football, they would be nice additions to the team. Quote
#1siouxfan22 Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I heard Troy Wambach sp? from west fargo might get movied up to the great plains team from the other elite team. Quote
Skate_For_State Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I think Weisgarber and Christian would be the 2 best choices. Quote
Skate_For_State Posted September 2, 2004 Posted September 2, 2004 They updated the Roster on the www.hselitehockey.com website. Quote
Skate_For_State Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 the Great Plains team didnt do so well the first game, but they won the second game and on the third game lost by one goal. Quote
#1siouxfan22 Posted September 6, 2004 Posted September 6, 2004 Do you have the stats or know where to find them? Quote
jloos Posted September 7, 2004 Author Posted September 7, 2004 They will likely update their stats every couple of weeks, that's what they did last year. Elite Hockey This is the site. My cousin and Vandeveldie missed part of the first game on Sat (car trouble). I haven't talked to him at all yet, but from others it sounds like the Great Plains team had a tough time in the net. Neither goalie has ever played a varsity HS game (at least I don't think they have). Lee isn't playing after undergoing knee surgery, so they are still light one D-man. I'm not sure when he's going to be back on the ice, for sure by the start of the HS season. Quote
#1siouxfan22 Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 Lee seems to get hurt alot. A concussion earlier this summer now the knee. is he injury prone? Quote

#1siouxfan22 Posted September 10, 2004 Posted September 10, 2004 The elite 2 team plays in fargo-moorhead tonite and this weekend. Quote
jloos Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 It sounds like Christian is having a tough time in the nets for the Great Plains team. The kid from South has been doing pretty well. Here are the scoring leaders after week one, they don't include this past weekends games. sooperfan Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 I HEAR DEREK KUNTZ FROM GF HAD A GREAT WEEKEND, SCORING 3 GOALS INCLUDING 2 IN ONE GAME. Quote
#1siouxfan22 Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 thanks for yellin but they still didnt win a game from what i hear from a friend. they were 0-2-1. hopefully they do better in wisconsin this weekend. the elite 2 team won 1 game out of 5 in fargo this weekend. Quote
sooperfan Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 THEY WILL BE SHORT A LOT OF PLAYERS IN MADISON BUT I THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GET SOME ADD ONS. I HOPE THEY CAN START WINNING SOME GAMES. IT LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE GOING TO BE A REALLY GOOD TEAM AT FIRST BUT WITH INJURIES AND ONE OF THE GUYS BEING SICK AND ONE QUITTING THEY SEEM TO BE STRUGGLING. PLUS I THINK THEY NEED SOME OF THEIR FORWARDS TO STEP IT UP A LITTLE. Quote

Skate_For_State Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Not many guys are going to Madison, it will be interesting to see how they do with a short bench. Quote
jloos Posted September 16, 2004 Author Posted September 16, 2004 Not many guys are going to Madison, it will be interesting to see how they do with a short bench. I know all of the Moorhead kids are going (except Lee). It is a long drive for the players from Bismarck & Minot. I imagine the second game of the day will be tough on Sat. It is a good way to get in shape. Quote
#1siouxfan22 Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Both elite teams are going on a bus together. but the elite 2 team is the team with the short bench. Quote
Skate_For_State Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 1-1-1 best record of the weekends so far. Quote
#1siouxfan22 Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 and the elite 2 team was 1-0-3 not bad for have 12 guys including goalies. Quote
jloos Posted September 21, 2004 Author Posted September 21, 2004 They still have goalie issues. Christian keeps getting lit up, the kid from South has been doing pretty good. They are a little shallow on D, but they probably have one of the best group of forwards in the tourny. Quote
sooperfan Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!! FOR AS MUCH TALENT AS THEY SUPPOSEDLY HAVE IN FORWARDS I THINK THE EFFORT IS PATHETIC. I THINK THEY ARE SEEING WAY MORE EFFORT FROM THE DAKOTA BOYS (FORWARD AND DEFENSE) THAN FROM THE MINNESOTA BOYS, ESPECIALLY THE ONES FROM MOORHEAD! Quote
