CoteauRinkRat
Great to see Parise get some more recognition for his fantastic season.
Supertrex
B-hole gets College Player of the Year award...I can think of at least two goalies with better numbers. I guess all you needed was to get hot for a game or two... Zack Parise was the College Player of the Year...every time he touched the ice he made a difference...to ignor his talent makes these awards a travesty and a sham and a mockery...they're a traveshamockery.... dagies
It's not as if Berkhoel was a slug all season and then just got hot. He's a very good goalie who played big in the biggest games of the year. He shut your player of the year nomination down in the biggest college game of that player's career to date, then went on to win the national championship, shutting down a 6-3 in the last minutes. I don't disagree with your analysis of Parise's play. But I believe one can argue that Berkhoel is worthy as well.
Supertrex
As I recall, Brandt and JPar both had better numbers for the season than B-hole. I figure the award was for the whole season, not a game or two... And you're citing one game...what about the other previous six they played...I remember two overtime wins, a sweep in Denver (where B-hole was blown off the ice), a win and an overtime tie...unfortunately, a hot goal tender is all you need in a single game, win or out format... He's good, but he's not on the same level as Parise and if you think he is, you apparently spend more time watching the cheerleaders than the players at the games... Supertrex
I also think they gave it to B-hole because he was a senior....which is also BS (IMHO)...that simply doesn't recognize the realities of the college game where players routinely leave early for a pro career... dagies
I agree the award is for the whole season. If I remember correctly Berkhoel's season lasted a bit longer than our boys. Look, all I am saying is that I think an argument can be made in Berkhoel's favor. That doesn't mean you are not right. However, where you and I disagree is whether or not this is a screw-job on Parise. I'll just go back to staring at the cheerleaders now, since apparently that's what I do. dagies
We knew it was so Hey, there's only, like, 50-60 face-offs every game.
Guest #1SiouxHockeyFan11
I am glad that Zach Parise got an award. He is my absolute favorite player and I wish that he wouldnt have left even though he got lots of money for leaving! I was very sad to hear that he was leaving. I will surely miss him. I also wanted to get his autograph and to meet him so bad. He was my favorite player and always will be.
