Hansel
athletic directors at UND and South Dakota have started the ball rolling toward what they hope will become a border-state rivalry. and just to stir things up a bit- its the offseason UND, which is remaining in Division II and now refuses to play the Bison in all but one sport. BigGreyAnt41
North Dakota State ended its decades-long association with the North Central Conference last weekend. But the Bison - one of the conference powers for decades - went out with two final championships, one at the expense of their rival. I find it odd that it's the herald that points this out, but doesn't mention that we took the final victories in mens and women's basketball and football. star2city
and just to stir things up a bit- its the offseason There's anything but an off-season anymore with you guys? A rivalry with Minnesota-Duluth should be emphasized, what with Schweigert and Sandelin there.

RD17
Will Duluth have the full alotment of scholarships in FB next year ? NSIC max is 21 compared to 36 for the NCC. If not they can't be your rival. Roger Thomas says you should only play your rival if you are on equal footing As I understand it, Duluth is going to 30 scholarships this year, then up to the max in the next year or two. UMD and UND would be on equal footing, they're in the same division and conference now. In fact any shcool in D2 has the opportunity to be on equal footing with UND. It's not UND's fault if schools can't or won't fully fund their athletic programs.
