redwing77
Ok, having watched Sioux hockey and ND State hockey tourneys I got to wondering about goaltender masks. There are a lot of goaltender masks that are custom painted out there, including ones in high school (Bismark High's goaltender Ruud for example). I was wondering how they afford it? Does the school pay for it as part of a scholarship (as far as the masks seen in college are concerned)? Does the school booster program foot the bill (high school)? Or does the player/parents purchase the custom apparel? Anyone know how much, on average, mask painting costs?
schmidtdoggydog
Anyone know how much, on average, mask painting costs? The mask with the custom paint job Jordan Parise got a few weeks ago cost approximately $1,200.00!
Marty
I'm almost positive that the players pay for it by themselves. There is no way a high school booster program would pay that kind of money.
MinnesotaNorthStar
I believe JPar and Brandt get theirs payed for by UND. The budget is around $1.3 million for the men's hockey team I think. High Schoolers have to pay for them themselves. But, what's an extra $1000 or so when you've spent so much on the pads to begin with.
