MafiaMan Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Kenmare Honkers, Carpio Cardinals, Donnybrook Hi-Liners, Tolley Tigers, Sherwood Wildcats, Lansford Cubs, Glenburn Panthers, and Mohall Yellowjackets. Only Kenmare, Glenburn, and Mohall survive today Are the others co-ops now or did they simply close? Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 19, 2014 Author Posted September 19, 2014 Old District 29 in Region 8: Golva Tigers Beach Buccaneers Belfield Bantams South Heart Eagles New England Tigers New England St Mary's Saints Golva closed in the late 1980's/early 1990's...students now go to Beach. NESM closed sometime in the mid 1990's...Belfield and South Heart High Schools remain separate but co-op as the Heart River Cougars. Beach and New England remain. Quote
NDSU grad Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Are the others co-ops now or did they simply close? Carpio, Donnybrook, and Tolley closed. Mohall, Lansford, and Sherwood consolidated to form the M-L-S Mavericks, but I don't believe they use the schools in Lansford or Sherwood. Quote
SiouxVolley Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Maybe the oil boom out west will bring the "good old days" back? That would be sweet. It is saving school districts like Grenora and Alexander. Williston District #8 might even build a high school. They now have a K-8, and send the HS students to Williston (District 1). http://www.willistonherald.com/news/setting-boundary-lines/article_13261bd0-3d17-11e4-b055-0bfd3d497b38.html Quote

Looks like Alexander will be one of the bigger Class B towns if things keep going: http://bismarcktribune.com/bakken/small-town-school-adjusts-to-the-oil-boom/article_30516174-2a11-11e4-bbcf-001a4bcf887a.html Watford City just missed the Class A cutoff this year. Their planning for 800 HS student now in a few years. http://www.watfordcitynd.com/?id=10&nid=2857 Quote
Kurt Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 Old district 32 in region 8: Bowman Bulldogs Rhame Pirates Hettinger Black Devils Scranton Miners Regent Rangers Mott Cardinals Reeder Rockets The last year that this district existed was 1990. in 1991 the number of districts in the state was reduced to 24 and the New England Tigers and the New England St. Mary’s Saints were added to this group to form District 24. I believe this district only existed for one year and the entire state reduced districts and restructured again in 1992 Quote

Coach Schroeder was less than pleased on the bus ride home. Quote
