  1. I worry that the negative press the goofs are getting will only serve as motivation for them. I can just hear Donny-boy pumping up his troops saying "no-one thinks you should have the #1 seed--so go out there and prove it...." On the other hand--I wonder if any players from Maine will remember a certain game at the Xcel a few years back? Payback would be sweet for them....
  2. So does that mean they will move the 3rd place game to Saturday night?
  3. I would compare him to Travis Roche. But I think he is currently only 90% as good offensively and 80% as good defensively--at least at this point. Boy Roche had that puck on a string. I wish he'd make the jump into a regular NHL lineup somewhere.....He was fun to watch on the power play.
  4. I don't want to see the Sioux lose both this weekend. But a split might be a blessing in disguise. If the Sioux sweep and we need to face the Gophers in the Final Five or the NCAA's-or both, I would hate to "have" to beat them 5 or 6 times in a row in one season. If we do, that's great--but I think that would be tough. I would rather they lose one to them this weekend instead of in March or worse--April. But I'm sure the guys on the team would disagree and want to win them all, and I would certainly be okay with that too......
  5. I think we are still 9th at around 13%. Not sure where you got 4th and 18.8%? I wish it were true....
  6. I would think these two players would be considered for Offensive Player of the week for the WCHA and maybe even USCHO. Both had 7 points on the weekend--Both had 4 goals and 3 assists. Vannek figured in on about 44% of the U of M offense on the weekend 7 of the 16 goals. Parise figured in on about 58% of UND's offense, 7 of 12. Did anyone else have a big weekend offensively? Or will it be between these two?
  7. B.C. might have a problem with that statement.....
  8. So am I getting this right? If I were to buy one of the dishes and receivers and get them pointed at the right coordinates, I would be able to get all the games broadcasted on the FSSN? Would I have to pay a monthly service fee like Direct TV? Or is it just a one time expense? Does it interfere at all with the Direct TV signal? Can you record the games on your VCR? Sorry for all the questions--but I am very interested.
  9. I would say it affected the rest of the team to some degree too.
  10. I think Hale would have made the difference in some of those games. Saying that he is "only one player" is like saying that Zach Parise or Brandon Bochenski is only one player.... Look at what a different team the gophers are with Ballard in the lineup, or when they got Potulny back from an injury last year.... I agree though--let's enjoy this year!
  11. I think alot of people forget that last year's "swoon" had alot to do with losing David Hale to his illness. The Sioux lost several close games down the strech because of key defensive lapses in critical situations. I am not suggesting that they would have won them all, but I don't think that the "bleeding" would have been so severe if he had been in the line-up. I think if we stay healthy--we will remain the team to beat this year.
