If any post that I make is altered, changed, abbreviated, or adjusted in some way, I will refuse to respond to that comment or question. Unless the complete post is quoted things have a way of getting distorted or taken out of context. I am not saying you can't do it, I am saying I will not respond. For some reason there were many at BV that didnt care for Dick. I could never understand it.
The opinions of some people on Bisonville and Sioux Sports are just that opinions. Rob Bollinger talked to me when he was on the search committee at Bemidji State when Dick Hanson was going through the interview process for BSU President. My feelings were that for everyone they could find that was better than Dick Hanson, there would be 1000 candidates that would be worse. I believe there were three finalists at the end. Bemidji State made a great choice in hiring Dick Hanson and I hope things continue to work out for them. Dick is the kind of guy, like Rob Bollinger, that tells you what you should hear, but not necessarily what you want to hear. They both can be trusted.

I knew Roger when he was a young, single graduate assistant at UND (along with Rob Bollinger)- full of wise cracks he had a great sense of humor and was well liked by the players and fellow coaches- grew into an offensive genuis and great coach.
Another name out of the past. Rob Bollinger, another good guy, It's to bad the State of North Dakota lost he and his wife to the State of Minnesota. NDSU lost a good man in Dick Hanson. Ironically Dick Hanson and Rob Bollinger both work together at Bemidji State.

Agreed. Roger Thomas is a good man. He's taken a lot of unwarranted flak for failing (according to NDSU rules) to "move up" when NDSU did. I will be forever grateful to Roger for all he has done for UND.
Couldn't agree more. You can disagree with someone, debate the issues, but still have respect for their point of view. Several years ago when the NCC had it's swan song banquet in Sioux Falls, Roger and I had a great talk on all the changes. He hated to see the NCC disappear in name, but he eventually realized that some changes are almost impossible to stop. Roger cared about people.

You totally misunderstand the premise. I am not impersonating WYOBISONMAN he does all that evil stuff on his own. I am actually ashamed to admit it, but what can I say. We all have a good and bad side. Hell at the very least you use a name in real life and another one on this message board. What makes you any different or special. Sad to say he is in deep on the NDSU Lunatic Fringe over on Bisonville, just view some of his foul mouthed perverted posts. He is like, Bulk Truck. in that he is a piece of work but on the bad side of things. Bulk Truck is a good guy

I am WYOBISONMAN on Bisonville. There is an evil side and a good side to all of us, I am sad to say. Bulk Truck is the good side and WYOBISONMAN is the evil side. I prefer the Bulk Truck side.

darell, are you now telling me that petey23 is my brother. This is very confusing for an honest and down to earth message board poster like me. I guess I am willing to put up with some confusion if I can get rid of you as a brother. Petey23 seems like an OK person. You are just a dishonest troublemaker. P.S. A friend of mine who is a diehard NDSU fb fan and coincidentally a die hard UND hockey fan made it clear and said even though he wasn't completely sure what side he was on, he didn't trust you either. Maybe he knows who you really are. I didn't press the issue because I don't care.

I use the term FU on this fan site only when dealing with trolls. It is not a term that is in my daily word usage nor would I ever say "SU Sucks" to a person I just met - these were middle-aged professionals by the way. I will say that over the years it has become easier to develop a dislike for the school in general because of the lunatic fringe that posts here and the arrogence school officials display in the media - the recent letter to the editor that slipped by the Fargo Forum makes that point.
I would classify the lunatic fringe as a person who posts on other schools websites with intent to stir the pot, wears clothing about another school with derogitory slogans, starts chants about other schools when not playing that school, goes out of their way to post negative comments about another school in public chat rooms - none of which I do. I am a UND Fan which makes NDSU a rival and thus fair game for poking fun at - and they make it so easy.
Now now you were doing such a fine job there for a while. Be careful the slope is slippery to the Lunatic Fringe from either UND or NDSU. Remember life is a circle and when in life you become a member of the Lunatic Fringe from one side you are actually right next to the Lunatic Fringe from the other. Pretty scary when you look at it from that perspective.

I have heard that NDSU is not fully funded. I would believe that, especially considering the source it came from. It's a shame that a D-1 program sponsors a sport and then doesn't fund it properly.

Sorry but you seem a little two-faced - you come to a UND fan site to troll but then claim to be the victim. I have a hard time seeing that you wouldn't be the type of FU fan that isn't an instigator or might say something a little controversial when you were attending a UND/FU game. You are probably the type of FU fan that I have had to sit behind - I don't throw food I let the play on the field speak for me, The last 10 times UND and FU played in football I heard a lot of BS from FU fans - some of it insulting and arrogant. I left a majority of those games happy with the end result.
Several times over the years I have been introduced to someone in a social setting and when alma maters came up and mine was UND and their's was FU without missing a beat they said "Sioux Suck". Now no matter what my feelings are about FU (shown by my use of FU) I would never feel it was appropriate to immediately say something derogatory about the school five seconds after meeting an alum of the school. Can't remember the last time I heard UND fans cheer abot FU unless they were playing them - seems to be reported that it happens quite reguarly from FU fans. I have attended numerous UND events and always see the guy that felt the need to wear an NDSU shirt - looking for trouble? Hoping someone says something so they can run to bison-swille? Based on my experence UND envy permeates FU fans and thus the need to always put UND down.
Anecdotal comments like yours define the behavior of the Lunatic Fringe of both UND and NDSU. Sadly and unfortunately it happens. The vast majority of people that I deal with throughout the State and within the respective alumni bases have affinities towards both UND and NDSU. If all you do is associate or become surrounded by one or both of those two Lunatic Fringe groups, I can totally understand why you feel the way you do. You may have experienced boorish behavior on the part of Lunatic Fringe fans of NDSU, but your reference to NDSU as FU brings you pretty close or actually includes you in the Lunatic Fringe group at UND,

Does anyone know if Baseball at UND or NDSU is fully funded. I believe the max is 11.7 scholarships.

Terry Wanless was one of the best AD's UND has ever had! The ghost of Gino Gasparini expedited his departure from UND.

Oh no---you wont find me there, as its a constant battle to remind people that a very small minority of whack jobs dont define a fan base as a whole when it comes to NDSU. Many many times I have just shaken my head when I have read some of the things posted here and at BV.

I never left. I monitor NDSU's Lunatic Fringe as well. Right now it is six of one and a half dozen of the other.

It will be on KVLY and the only people that will see it will be Western Minnesota and Eastern North Dakota. I am pretty sure we could film the game from the Alerus as well and broadcast it on TV.
I believe all NDSU football games are televised on a statewide basis and that coverage extends into parts of Montana, South Dakota, and Minnesota. I have a relative that sells advertising and she has confirmed that to me several times. Their opener at Iowa State will be televised nationally on Fox Sports 1. UND has a package of sorts with Midco and regional Fox affiliates. Sold out games sell the advertising to televise athletic contests. That is reality. UND has some work to do period.

You have appeared to be a reasonable person, but your last post is taking you perilously close to the NDSU Lunatic Fringe. Don't let the UND Lunatic Fringe suck you in. It becomes a slippery slope.

I have attended sporting events all over this country. At no other venue have I been treated as badly as I was treated as when at UND. Just a fact.
The Lunatic Fringe at Montana/Missoula is the absolute worst.

Future UND/ Bison football Game

I have unqualified and absolute support for Richard Hanson. He grew up in Hillsboro ND. He was recruited by both UND and NDSU. He ended up going to NDSU, He played defensive tackle for the '68 and "69 National Championship NDSU FB teams. He was drafted by the New York Giants and they attempted to make an offensive tackle out of him. He hung around for one or two years in the NFL and then came back and eventually ended up with a PHD. He was a professor and administrator at NDSU, Augustana College in Sioux Falls, and a small college in Iowa. He was the interim President at NDSU after Chapman and before Bresciani. Both Rob Bollinger, who was a former UND football coach and Sioux Booster Club President and Dick Hanson are at Bemidji State University, Rob is the head guy for their Development Foundation and Dick is President of the University. I consider both Rob and Dick my good friends and they have been for over 40 years.
