A new nickname doesn't have to mean new logo, even though I think we will get an additional logo. Many schools like Denver, Michigan, and Indiana don't use logos depicting their nickname. If we select Nodaks I'd like to keep using the ND as our primary.

I voted for Roughriders, but would vote Nodaks in a runoff vote if the support keeps building from the students and student athletes. This is their school and they are the ones who will build a tradition for others to follow. Them being proud of our new nickname is the most important thing to me.

I updated my info about a month ago and since then I've been spammed about every Alumni event/fundraising opportunity happening in the lower 48 so I know I will probably get info on the vote soon...at least they've confirmed contact:-)
Channel your inner 4th grader to find the problem with NODAKS...a-holes on the bison board have already confirmed this...replace the "A" with an "I" then go back to the old picture a few posts above of the bb players in the Nodak jerseys and their very short, tight basketball shorts....uuugggghhhhh! That would be MEME heaven for those idiots from lowest-common-denominator U!
Fighting Hawks might be generic right now but at least it gives us a tie to the past and something to work with for the future! That internet logo that's out there right now won't be it but THAT NAME could be a start to something cool AND original. That's my vote!
Nodaks has a much stronger tie to the past than Fighting Hawks. And does anyone care what the pasture people think?

Not entirely sure what sins you're referring to. The Drake game gets forgiven with a victory. The failure to move up with ndsu and the Mussman years? No, those scars will take many more years to heal.
I agree. If we would have moved up with them I don't think we would have ever lost Dale Lennon and we would have maintained the recruiting advantage we had under him. The admin set us back much further than a win against ndsu can redeem. We should expect to win, even as underdogs

It's a great logo by itself. Many schools like Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Nebraska have made great brands with unique names without a characterized logo.
Someone made a great point about differentiating ourselves from Notre Dame. That is a good reason for a new logo but still not a necessity.
But for the record, Fighting Sioux will never die before I do. I couldn't help that even if I wanted to
