Really, my son (which I don't have) will die?
-
Your brash use of language discounts any value in your argument. And I'm inclined to belief that your statements would change dramatically if aired in public. As I test of my hypothesis I ask you to state at five different occassions to at least five different people that "President Chapman is a dirt bag" and "President Chapman is a back stabbing liar" if those are appropriate descriptions, I'm sure you'd be willing to share it with anyone, right?
-
Wow. You're referring to President Chapman as a dirt bag, that is absolutely ridiculous. And you're kidney donation analogy is attrocious.
-
If the question, "Is Chapman's position in jeopardy?" I would be willing to stand by the inference.
-
One could infer that the lack of support of Potts, the position of Chancellor, and the absence of any formal reprimand was in fact a referendum in support or President Chapman and his actions.
-
Why would Chapman be the fall guy? By everyone, I meant the SBHOE, the legislature, the governor, all university presidents. He's got nothing to fall for. Nor does the SBHOE given the AG's opinion. I have a completely different take on this than many of you. IMO Chapman is 'fricken' golden right now, he's completed the second bold step in shaking up higher education in North Dakota (the first being going to the legislature in '05). He is completely out of line doing it, but no one is stopping him and many (the SBOHE and the governor) seem to support him.
-
Why would it be the undoing of Chapman? Chapman's actions began in 2005 during the legislative session. Everyone in the know knew he was there and the SBOHE chose not to reprimand him. They picked Chapman over Potts when all the latter was trying to do was his job. If anything the SBOHE is a co-conspirator.

Chapman at Work Potts wrote in the letter that NDSU President Joe Chapman was, in his words, "actively engaging in a course of conduct designed to undermine the effectiveness, if not the very existence of the university system."
-
My estimate is at least one. The issue has a great deal to do with UND as evident by both the interest and relevant comments made by many posters on this thread. I agree that many, not just a single NDSU fan posting on this thread, are forcing the facts and rumors to support their pre-existing sentiments regarding the two institutions.
-
Sh*t. You're finally onto us. Chapman has been funneling millions into a top secret (until now) flickertail breeding/investation program. He's an expert on lepus, but knows a lot about rodents in general, why do you think we hired him? Former Chancellor Potts learned about the program and was pushed out because he wanted to end it. The flickertail in PCM's garage, 'Handsome' Pete Jovanovich, was a high level operative who was sent to gather intelligence in Grand Forks. He returned back to Fargo on Monday and reported that he had found none, confirming Chapman's beliefs.
-
Maybe this is a sign from Mother Earth that she wants UND to change its nickname back to the Flickertails?
-
NDSU has been paying cash for its facilities as well. The money for the BSA renovation is in hand. Otherwise, the State has to approve a bonding measure.

You guys are quick today.

So you agree with the fact I posted earlier. Chapman operates an institution that the board has oversight over, so an issue of concern to him specifically may be of interest to the board. Saying that he has a 'remote control' is unfounded. Gee, could it be because he discussed it with someone in the know?
-
? That says nothing about Hoeven's concern with Pott's before or after discussion, it just says that he traveled by plane with an alumnus and soon after scheduled a meeting with higher ed board members. Your inference is a stretch and your use of language is inciteful.
-
? There were numerous media reports at the time that stated that very fact.
-
Is this true? How do you know this?
-
That is incorrect. The resolution was explicitly worded to demonstrate support of the position of Chancellor, not Potts himself.
-
What has Hoeven done? Your conspiracy theory is a stretch. You think he organized this? Why? That makes no sense. He spoke with other government officials, isn't that part of his job? He didn't want to lose Chapman. He didn't care for some of Pott's performance. He visited with two members of the SBOHE about it. Maybe you need to reread the opinion..........
-
Actually I think he was talking about the music scence. We got both types ya know, Country and Western.
-
Why must everything be about race to you, Sicatoka? There are types of diversity other than racial.
-
absolutely.
-
No, it was the state constitution that prevented it; Potts was doing his job. reality It could happen. I wouldn't have a problem with UND getting more funding as long as the funding was equitable among the 11 institutions, which it isn't today.
