So am I....I am thinking big things this year (but I do every year :o) I think Mark will be a top 6 guy....I was very impressed with him last year, he seemed much better than O'Donnell to me. Yes, O'Donnel scored a bunch of goals in the limited time he played but didn't offer much else (assists). I like that we are sitting here trying to figure out who has to come out of the top 6....I like those tough decisions. It better be a nice year.

Sure. I like Mark a lot.... however I am not so high on Mitch. Yes, they did have great chemistry in the BCHL but it seems to me everyone kills it in that league...and it is not even close to college hockey, in terms of competitivenss. Also, his numbers at SCSU were god awful. Hak must see something so I'm sure he will improve...but I'm not too sure he is a top 6 forward.

You mean like less than ten people in the Standing Rock community oppose the name. Based on that article on the homepage.

True. You're right he should play center than. He's seems somewhat small for a center at the NHL level....usuall you see smaller guys playing wing (St. Lious, Gerbe, Blake, etc). I am not disagreeing with you but to put Rowney on the third line after what he did last season seems like treason to me. I think you teach Rocco wing for a year. P. Kane moves back and forth although he is a natural wing. Again though, no way Rocco is not playing top 6 hockey next year, if not he's gone. Rowney too, they are both top 6 forwards. You don't throw a grinder into a top 6 role just because you are short a wing, then again this is the WCHA where half the game is special teams.

I skate with a kid who played with Rocco two years ago and he says Rocco is the best offensive player he has ever played with (yes while they were both on the NTDP). This kid played with many good players (JT MIller, Koules, etc) but he said Rocco was so much better than them. Will it transalte into a better NHL player...who knows. But I do know great small forwards can still tear it up in college hockey. I would leave the second line with Parks-Rowney-Macm. for obvious reason and throw Rocco up with Knight and Kristo. Our third and fourth lines will still be nice. Rocco doesn't belong anywhere else but the first line...he should be our best offensive player this year if he truly is healthy.

Yeah...but the guy had no assists. I still think he will be a good player but he will not be on the top two lines or PP...therefore no way he scores 20 goals. Maybe 10.

Agreed. On another note, do you think Ralph would have folded like everyone else did? Or do you think he would have been fighting hard with the "no" voters. Just a thought....we'll never know. I highly believe that man would have been fighting hard to keep the name and with his power and influence people may have listened more. We simply had no strong leaders. Not like Ralph at least.

Agreed. To bad things work out like this.

I like it....I wonder who the first blue chip prospect will be?

CNN??? Obviosuly jumped all over this one....get real.

Haha, that's actually quite funny. I travel a ton for work, believe me everyone outside of ND has no clue the schools are different (or at least they confuse which cities each of the schools are located in).
-
Agreed. That's what I was trying to say earlier....you simply explain this much better than I do.
-
I'm pretty sure we wer simply joking...or speaking out of frustration. Obviously everyone would have to have a say....although if it's Norse or Norseman I will vomit. Also, Ben better be able to whip up another sweet logo :o)

OK, so what makes hockey players that wear half shields fearful? I am pretty sure you're simply getting upset now. You also don't know much about hockey...as I have said 10 times now (this only goes to this guy...no one else).
-
Agreed with everything you just said....when mandates change....teams/players adjust.
-
OK, this things over. Some of you guys need to calm down.
-
Yup I agree. Anyway, why are you all against getting rid of the property tax? I live in MN now and have stayed out of ND politics.
-
OK, I live in the Cities. Yes, right by the target center and target field is somewhat safe (at 2am) but if you get bar hopping and get further away from that central location....lets just say, you can end up somewhere not many people from GF would want to be at that hour.

Yes I agree with you on much of what you said, I think the NCAA rules should mimick the NHL's, since that is the ultimate league. Now whether we should follow the shootout rule is up for debate as a shootout win would affect the outcome in NCAA more than the NHL as there is far less games in NCAA hockey. Good points, but I think there may be more scoring per game in the WCHA than the NHL...not sure though. The amount of special teams time in the WCHA is terrible, that leads to the increased scoring. BTW, yes 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 would be pretty low....but I really don't see too many of those games in the WCHA. Sioux goofs had one....but I actually enjoyed watching that Sioux win. All in all, I rarely see a 1-0 game in college hockey. Very rare.

Good idea.

$200/night (besides Best Western and Holiday Inn). Yes, tons of cops....for a good reason. Either way...I'll be there.
